Sony has a new one - the tough series, does that interest you?

Sorry meant to say without breaking the bank. I knew it was uhs-11 but wondered the speed I should be aiming for

I think they are all pretty expensive and all pretty fast. I snatched a good deal from BH used store on an Angel fire? 128GB for 100...

It only does 250 MB/s, which is the slowest I've seen but practically very fast. I tested the buffer and it's a few frames slower than Sony's fastest card, but it is much faster than my UHS I card.

Here are some write speed tests I found online:

https://alikgriffin.com/best-memory-card-sony-a7riii/ (external link)

They all seem pretty close. I'd probably choose the cards from the more reputable brands over a difference of a couple mb/s real world write speeds though. Card failures suck

I was at one where there were 2 photographers with 3 5D’s between them. I set my Sony with Canon glass down while they took a group shot and I heard the girl not taking the picture say “ah, it’s a Sony”.

I have fallen victim to soft images on the long end, but upon review realized that my shutter speed was much too low for 200mm...lower light shooting. When my shutter speed is higher, its fine...can count hairs.

Doesn't seem tack sharp at 1/400... almost like some kind of blur occurred.

Shot a wedding yesterday. Second shooter is a fuji guy with an XT-3 (ridiculous camera BTW). Both videographers were shooting Sony.

No Canon or Nikon DSLR's in sight. Time's are changin.

I rarely see videographers shooting Canon anymore. 5DII started the whole video with ILC cameras trend....but Canon lost the video market years ago.

Care to briefly elaborate? Not that I'm going there, just curious as to your thoughts.
Thanks

Ridiculous in a good way. Fuji cameras have always been on the sluggish/clunky side. Moreso than Sony even. But the XT-3 is right up there with the newer Sony bodies.

There's a crazy part of me that wants one...mostly because Sony neglects APS-C and I think there's a lot to like about APS-C...particularly in terms of size. but dual systems are a PITA.

The fuji 56 1.2 is money though.

you mean u only have one season,,,, god i hope not, i am blessed to live where we have 4 glorious seasons each brings unique photo ops, hot summers, cool falls, vibrant springs and crisp winters, each lasts just long enough to make u miss it when its gone into the next season, i couldnt live in florida or those places that have on season,,,,,,hot,,,,haha.

no, we have seasons...but it doesn't snow very often and when it does our city just shuts down so I don't have to drive...but I can drive my one car all year and don't have to drive a winter car...it was 49F on my way to a portrait shoot this morning...

I blame that more on the forum...the file on my screen is plenty sharp...or maybe you have much stricter tolerance and want it to be oversharp...I don't like oversharp for people.
