Eriet, I'm 28 days away from departure -2 days- to Bosque.
Already go my guide set for Crow Canyon and the ancestral Navajo homeland...don't think the camper can do that road :(

Charlie, when bored https://www.flickr.com …/albums/72157694468292914 (external link)
from the beginning to current.

Someday I'll do a video walkthrough of the camper. Plenty of video capable stuff here, I just don't do video (effectively).

Hey guys (do we have any gals here? if so sorry).
I'm just now discovering the FE 24GM.
I've been waylaid by the 500PF and saw a blurb on the 24
and am thinking I like it.

What's not to like?

I'm in now rush, probably wouldn't be here for the November trip
and I'm Greentoe'ing some Nikon stuff.

For this type of lens I hate fly-wire (Batis) but from what I've read Sony's almost
made it 'manual' focus 'like'.

Thoughts?

Ah heck, went ahead and pre-ordered anyway. Told them if they can't deliver by Nov 26 (trip out west) to cancel.
We'll see how it works.
This to be a 'fun' lens, you know my bread-butter is 300mm+

I know I didn't want a Sigma with a metal piece of pipe glued to the bottom :)

Looks like an amazing lens and maybe one day. Currently fixated on small lenses, should have my CV 21 soon...

Yep I have the 28/2 and for how many times I go under 300mm it is fine. The 24mm FE Rokinon is fine too.
Shooting what I shoot I wonder why I even darken the door of nice wide lenses. Keeping the economy going, well that's what POTUS Bush told me to do....

Ha! See my post above - I'm already enjoying the smaller, lighter set-up! I have another C/Y zoom on the way - an 80-200/4. I think that I'm going to stick with f/4 zooms (other than my C/Y 35-70/3.4) and a prime or two if I want something a little faster. It's funny - with the 5D, I wanted faster glass for the VF (couldn't see as well otherwise!), but now with the EVF, I'm okay with giving up a stop if it means a smaller lens that I'm more likely to carry with me.

very nice ride and trail/area.
cool. you're gassing up lol

Ive used the native 35 2.8, 55 1.8, 24-70 f4 for about 4 years, was all I needed. very light and small. I then got the 2.8 zooms last year mainly for weddings and have been using the 24-70 2.8 as my current go to since i have it and it's expensive so I need to use it lol.

Worked on the camper today. Added the second of three light packages--the crown. One more package to go, maybe next week.

looks great. Thinking it can replace my Batis 25 and my Samyang 24 (Astro) into the one lens with faster aperture
