Sunny for the first time in a couple of weeks here in my neck of the woods so I took some time capture a bit of the last colours of Autumn.

I've been real close to buying one for months, but finally the cv21 is available and I got it instead, focal length more to my liking.

If only SY made it 21mm instead, I would have bought it.

New problem with my R3 - I am all focused and push down the shutter button and nothing happens. The green focus lights are still dancing around, but the image on the screen stops changing. At some completely random amount of time later, I hear a click and it takes a picture wherever it is pointing at that time. It's happened 3 times in the last week I think. Trying to find the rhyme or reason to it. I for sure noticed it with the MC-11 and a Canon lens at least once or twice. But I don't remember if it happened with a Sony lens or not.

So yesterday I went to the bealpha sony event in los angeles. very cool experience and Id recomend you guys to go if it's in your area. it is free to attend but space is limited so you need to look out for your area and sign up for it.

https://alphauniverse.com/calendar/ (external link)

they offered to loan out one camera body and one lens if you choose to try out the gear. these are also limited so it's best to not be late. They had some a9 and lots more a7r3 to loan. lens are primary sony made and not zeiss/3rd party. I was hoping to try out an a7s2 but that's all they offered but the 85gm was the lens I wanted to play with so I was glad to be able to. folks who borrowed the gear was presented with a tough memory card and a usb card reader to keep. I think the card capacity is random and it's too bad I got a 32g which isnt much but heck, its free. those who wasn't interested in borrowing gears didnt get the card and reader. inside the building they had a vending machine that holds free 'be alpha' tshirt and stickers. caps were on top of the machine for grabs. a token was also given at entrance for a free silk screened shirt of your choice from either of the four design. I chose the one in the picture, other designs was an outline of the a7 body, this circle pattern, and be alpha print.

around the inside the building and on the top of the parking structure are different picture scenarios where you can take pictures. also they had several models that you can have a private 15 minute photo session with and being accompanied by a staff. you need to sign a release form for this, maybe for sony and the model to use your pictures or something, i'm not sure what exactly. this I greatly regret not doing and I wished I had. it didn't cost money so it's a no brainer. which means i got no brain... :P

food and drinks was provided at no charge as well. I was surprised when I went to look at the food truck to see what they have to offer and there was no price on the menu. they also had staffs catering snacks around the area. besides the lunch trucks on the bottom space, there were other food on the roof, tacos, pastas, alcohol, specialty coffee.

Few of my shooting buddies went, Nikon and Canon shooters, said the event was totally awesome.

If only I could escape.... Few of those guys will be doing an influencing artist? Show next week. Of course I'm too busy for that as well lol.
