i'm used to shoot with the 70-200L at 200mm for portrait and the 135mm so it's not new to me. I should be able to work it out as far as working distance goes. I also usually shoot outdoor. I might sell the 85GM. i know that sounds crazy but i need to use it to pay for the Siggy if I like it. Also having only one portrait lens, i like the extra reach of the 135. of course if money is not an issue, i will never sell my 85GM.

I find that I don't want to be limited by only having one lens...even outdoors, sometimes you can't back up, or can't get in the right spot for 135 or longer...so its why I have kept the 50/85/135 trinity...

MM did I miss something. Did you pick up the 24 1.4GM?

I am seriously considering selling the Lox 21 for that. I probably shouldn't ..... I should just pick up a 14. 2.8 samyang but I am still trying to travel light, and would love the 1.4 and auto focus that my Lox doesn't have

There's definitely a case for having both 135mm and 85mm in the bag. Working distance has a lot to do with it....135mm can be tough to use indoors. But also the FOV compression is pretty different. 85mm is still an environmental FOV. 135mm FOV compressed much more of the background out of the frame.

If I were consolidate down to one lens, it'd be the Siggy 105 f1.4 as it seems to be the mid-point between 85mm and 135mm

A9 with the 100-400 can do landscape in a pinch

Can’t comment on the A9 but the Rii/100-400 combo certainly can :-)

I agree. Although there are times like last sunday. I have 35/50/85 but i brought only the 85. It’s my way of forcing myself to use the lens. To find a way to use it creatively.

I agree on the 105 but i hate the siggy size. One day i know Sony will make one in a smaller package or at least the Nikon version size

Yep, can show it to you in AZ or NM :)
I like the concept.
Example, for 2019 Poof is scheming bear camp=small plane=small kit. I'd
take two long lenses and one wide=24/1.4 that can also do 35mm and night
time sky.
Eriet I'm just wondering if I need the Voigtlander 40/1.2 now.
The 24/1.4+55/1.8 really cover a lot of ground if your're willing to put the A7Riii in crop
mode. I am. 18mpx is plenty for me.
Huge advantage of the 24 is, like the 55/1.8, will easily fit into a pocket.
