Does anyone know if you can install lightroom CC on more than one comp? I.e if I subscribe and install on a laptop can I also install on my desktop? (I’m still using lightroom 6 at the moment)

I remember searching it in the past and yoy were only allowed have it on multiple windows , or mac but not both

I like shooting portraits with natural light, but one of the big reasons I like dragging artificial lights outdoors is that I have more flexibility with where I frame my subjects when I'm not tied to the location and direction of natural light sources. i.e. I can get the dramatic burn of a late sunset in the background of the frame, and still get a good exposure on my subject. Without a strong fill to balance the subject and ambient exposures, they would be heavily backlit, underexposed, and have a lot of unflattering directional shadows across their faces.

Hopefully im interpreting it correctly but it says "You can install Creative Cloud applications on multiple computers, regardless of operating system."

I actually really like it. The most important thing I can tell you is to let it finish syncing before you close it.

I will share with you what I have learned in using it the last year. I love having the cloud sync of everything. I can just bring my iPad and all my edits and culling is synced across my devices. The trouble came this year when they introduced Classic CC and just LR CC. Classic WILL NOT put your originals in the cloud. So if you want your originals in the cloud, you have to either upload them from your iPad, which is a 3 step add them to photos, then LR CC, then delete from Photos. More recently I’ve gone back to using Classic to import my photos. This allows me to better control where the files go on my computer and I can keyword them on the way in with camera info. But now to get the originals into the cloud (not just the smart previews) you have to let Classic finish, them open LR CC on the same computer and add those imported images to LR CC. Seems stupid, but that is what attaches the actual files to the cloud and uploads them. Then I just go back and use Classic for everything. The other frustration with this is if you use a third party that creates a tiff, you have to do the same thing to get that tiff into he cloud.

And perhaps even worse, LR CC and Classic don’t keyword the same. So you have to keyword in one program only. Now if you only want to use the culling and basic edits on your iPad, maybe the smart previews are enough and you don’t need to upload the originals to the cloud. I Justin like using that cloud as yet another backup. It just took a lot of frustration, reading and experimenting to really understand how it all works.

Eddie, I thought one license for Photoshop/LR CC can run on two computers I've got it on my PC and laptop.
Poof had to buy her own license for her laptop.

I don't know what version you've been using up to this point Eddie but I think you'll see a huge increase in features and functionality by going the subscription route. I can only speak to Photoshop CC though since I don't use Lightroom.

thats correct Robert. You can install on multiple, activate on two and run on 1 at a time

same boat as me. Not sure how much an issue the lack of gpu is currently and no idea when new iMac is due so stuck in limbo. The Mac mini looks sweet apart from that gpu issue. I need to google e-gpu as I didn’t even realise that was an option!

I din't realize the e-gpu was even a thing untill the release of the mac mini and all the talk about integrated GPUs etc. Apple has a write up on them but I lost the link however I had a quick look at the 9to5Mac write-up at https://9to5mac.com/gu​ides/egpu/.
