update with our county's situation,

117,000 acres
30% contained
42 fatalities to date

this is really bad.

Horrible Vinz. Sad to hear about so many deaths.

We got some sales on right now and I was so close to buying the Mavic Air but for where I live, it's not worth it. The majority of Sydney is a no fly zone

Because of this, I decided to finally buy the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 :D I've been wanting it since it was announced and have a holiday to Hawaii next Feb so can pack lighter.

Can't go wrong with either, I've got both ;-)a

The Tamron is a fantastic lens, consider it a consolidation for the missing Sony 35f2, a mighty good lens, so good at everything.

Haha I may eventually get a drone too, but right now I rather a second native lens since I'll get more use out of it.

I can't wait to finally get it, I think I may take just that and my 16-35 when I travel. I plan to get the Sony 35mm once it finally releases, this Tamron will surely keep me going in the mean time :P

It's a no nonsense super point and shoot.

I would probably get the Sony 35, sooner than later if it were super small, won't give up the 2.8, it's really a different league of small, in the range of the rx1 on a practical sense. Anything bigger generally needs a shoulder bag, and at that point, it's likely that in taking the Tamron + 12-24, small but highly capable combo.

Horrible Vinz. Sad to hear about so many deaths.

The Butte County Sheriff just announced that 6 more remains were found today. That makes it 48 now, 200 are still missing.

Our air quality is so unhealthy that all of our Sonoma area schools and the local community college were closed. Lots of folks out with N95 masks, but that is a minor inconvenience compared to suffering in the Paradise area.

I almost feel like point and shoot is a derogatory term for something so good haha.

It's almost too good to be classified as a point and shoot :p

My hope is that they will announce it around March next year. If there is a 35GM that has a form factor like the 24GM then I think I would be willing to pay high $ considering how much I use the 35mm now. Then I can have the 35, the 28-75mm and 85mm all native. I doubt I'll get rid of my 100L or 16-35mm any time soon though, but it may be a smart idea to do sooner than later with the RF Mount out now.

That's awesome Vinz. I'm glad you and your family are ok. My cousin and her family were evac'd from their Chico home on Thursday. They came down here to Stockton for the night. Friday morning, we went out and bought a bunch of supplies like N95 masks, drinking water and blankets and they went back for the day to distribute supplies and assist in any way they can. So sad to see the death toll rise. Most especially the guy's video of the burned cars with bodies in them.
