I was on a tripod. I focused then switched it to manual focus.

Are there any compact tripods out there that don't suck?

I'm using a meefoto and its not the best, but I'm not really interested in anything crazy bulky.

im using this and its awsome, very versatile, u can remove the sections to make it very small, very solid tripod

I did a self portrait to see how well the Tamron 28-75mm handles the mid range and I'm still thoroughly impressed.

I remember reading in reviews that some found it to be better on the wide end and others on the long end. To me this spells copy variation but thankfully mine seems to be really good throughout the range. Really happy I purchased this lens :D

Build quality is consumer Sony, and priced like a consumer lens, optics, at least "G" level, about that of an L or GM.

Really impressive, don't find the need to stop down at all. 67mm filter is convenient, most of my lenses are that size or smaller

Woof - BorrowLenses.com has Black Friday promo code (BLACKFRIDAY18) that just went live for 25% off used gear. Check it out - stuff is going pretty quickly (I grabbed something :)). They have a decent selection of ZF/ZE Zeiss lenses at decent prices, but with the promo code there are some very good deals. Haven't really looked at any other mounts (no native Sony FE).

Another shot from an earlier photo, this time with a splash of color for a different feel.

I cant believe it, I'm drawing blanks on what to buy :-P

Ebay is also having a 15% off one day sale, pretty darn good.

I can use SD card updates, 2x128 for my second camera seems appropriate, dont really like 64's too small.

My Thanksgiving Dinner menu for tomorrow.

Roast boneless turkey breast with mashed potatoes and gravy, French style green beans with bacon (not shown) and diced onions sauteed in butter. A glass of Merlot wine and a side of marinated mushrooms and black olives.

It's just me so this is more than enough. I thought about going to the VFW but prefer making my own dinner. :-)

Yeah I remember when I first opened the box and felt the lens I wasn't blown away by the build quality. The optics are very impressive and this is my first Tamron lens in any mount which impressed me more. I think Tamron are a bit underrated and deserve more attention than Sigma IMO.
