Beautifully lit, Gene - and a tasty looking spread!!

Thanks. The wine bottle tells the tale. My lighting was the fluorescent lights in the drop ceiling above and light from the kitchen window on the right.

Maybe I'll have time to photograph my Thanksgiving meal after it's been prepared. It may depend on how hungry I am at the moment.

Nice idea Vinz and well executed, I think the only thing that bothers me is the position of her feet/toes , they don't seem to be positioned properly to complete the illusion.

Well finally recieved my new A7R3 to replace the R2 that I have been using for the last couple of years. Never really felt that this was a significant upgrade for me when the R3 was launched but I am pleasantly surprised with the R3, especially being able to use eye-autofocus with adapted lenses ! Still waitng on my L-plate so the camera feels odd in my hands right now but from a functionality perspective I'm happy.

I'm considering purchasing a battery grip for the camera, I had one when I had the A7R, never used one on the R2 but now that I have a fair amount of the larger Sony Zoom lenses I'm considering purchasing it. Does anyone on the board have one that can provide some feedback on the useability of the grip? It kind-of defeats the purpose of the small body in my opinion but I just get the sense that the grip will provide some addition ergonomics to a camera that I have always felt was just a little to small for my liking.

I have the Sony grip for my A73 and A9 and I like it. I shoot with the 70-200GM quite a bit and it’s much more comfortable to shoot with the grip. Unlike Canon’s specific grips for each body, the Sony VG-C3EM grip will fit the A73, A7R3, and the A9. There are also third party grips available at a much lower price (Vello, Meike, etc). Even with the grip, it’s still considerably smaller than a DSLR with a grip.

the firmware is totally advance, with options to change in video, stills, and playback mode. The ability to scroll rated photos vs regular ones, I really miss on the A9, really felt that sped up my workflow. Great for impromptu sharing. While sharing the same sensor, it's a substantial upgrade..... also makes you realize the incredible value of the A7iii, which shares most features.

i dont have a grip but i do find the camera just a bit small for my hands so i picked up a arca swiss l plate for it, its for an a9 but fits my a73 perfect, gives it just enough to make it feel bigger in my hand, got it on amazon pretty cheap, both my tripds and mono pod are all acra swiss so this plate was a no brainer

thanks for the compliment and the feedback. yah i agree. also i should have had lowered my angle more. it was not part of the plan and the apple box isn't as sturdy, i could have one of her foot fold up a bit like standing in one leg.

I've never pre ordered any camera gear before! I think (hope!) I've found somewhere with a Voigtlander 40 1.2 that isn't already taken!

Fingers crossed!

This panorama is from a single image taken from the Sheraton San Diego in 2012. The image was upscaled and rendered as a 4K video. Below the video is the original image sized to 1600px on the long side to post here. Be sure to double click the video to see it on Youtube at full 4K resolution.

Shoot! *%$#&*, I forgot I took the original with my 5D3. Sorry about that.:-(

Here's how my boneless turkey breast roast turned out. The hardest part was removing the netting without taking too much skin with it.
