I'm curious if anyone else has changed their default profiles in ACR or Lightroom to "Camera Standard". It took me a little bit to get used to compared to how things look using "Adobe Color" but now I think it gives me the closest starting point for white balance and overall color tone. Adobe Color now looks too reddish for the most part.

Resetting the default profile is camera specific so if you use more than one camera, even if it's the same model, you have to make the change for each one. Once is all that's needed from that point forward though. Now when I open a raw file in ACR, I think it looks like the image did when viewed in the camera.

the first step of all edits for me is changing it from adobe standard. I normally use camera portrait for people shots as a starting point

Eddie, if you have the newest version of Photoshop CC 2019 or Lightroom, you can change the defaults so that camera standard, camera portrait or whichever you prefer is effective as soon as you open your raw editor. I can show you how to do that in Photoshop but don't use Lightroom so I don't know the steps to do it there.

thanks Gene, I’ll check that out. Still haven’t got round to installing CC on my editing machine as I need to back up my Ps actions and LR export presets. Currently paying for a subscription I’m not using!

I have LR import presets for different lenses which include a camera profile. When I was using canon bodies I used the profile of "Adobe Standard". When I switched to Sony (like many) I struggled with differences in color science. In the end I settled on the camera profile of "Camera Standard". I very much agree that it gives me the closest starting point for white balance and overall color tone. There you go....my 2 cents from the only APS-c user on the forum. ;-)a

A few interior shots from Mission San Juan Capistrano, founded in 1731. I was told that when foundation repairs were started years ago, the crew found a burial site with children and women. A Spanish conquistador was found on the grounds as well as several Native Americans and a cowboy in a coffin.

Notice the cross on the bottom right. Supposedly, there is a Native American buried there.

Very interesting Alfredo. Certainly a much different look than the chapel at Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano here in Orange County.

I took this shot in 2014.
