An abstract. It was kind of an accident, but I like it.

when not mounted to an extender...I love mine...it is sharp and has good background rendering...when I am shooting at the race track it is super fast to focus and quiet...I love shooting portraits and people with it too...it is going to Seattle with me tomorrow for landscape duty...it doesn't leave the bag...

Very interesting Alfredo. Certainly a much different look than the chapel at Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano here in Orange County.

I took this shot in 2014.

Thanks Gene. Yes it sure does look different. What year is your basilica?

I'm no expert Alfredo so the following is from Wikipedia:

The present day parish was completed in 1986. The Spanish Mission itself was founded in 1776, by Spanish Catholics of the Franciscan Order.

Does anyone know if I can install lightroom classic CC and photoshop CC at the same time as my standalone versions are still installed (to allow me to copy over my actions, presets, filters etc) or will the CC install wipe the existing install?

Sorry got another question. I often see people showing their photographic prints with white borders around them. As seen below Erik Johansson (If you like digital art check out his instagram, its amazing) has printed on Hahnemühle photo rag 500g paper and there is a chunky white border all around. How would I achieve that? Is it simply by adding a border when ordering the print (the place I use allows you to add a border of varying thickness) or when you get fine art prints done do they come with a border automatically? Ive only ever ordered framed fine art prints that are mounted so not 100% sure. Sorry if thats a daft question.

When I ordered prints from White Wall in Germany, you can specify border size. They are easier to mat that way. Excuse the glare in this one.

Thanks Alfredo, you answered another question I had which was do you still print with a border if you plan on using a mat but I guess you do to make it easier to fix behind the mat

I have frames that come with that beveled mat, is that what you are referring to?

AFAIK, that's mat framing borders, and they sometimes come with the frames you buy. Cannot easily cut these things, need a special tool.

Yep exactly. Check out printmaster Robert Rodriguez. He has a great video on his YouTube channel showing how he prints and mats.

Sorry Eddie, don't know for sure. I know for Photoshop you can but not sure about Lightroom.

I'm looking forward to an upcoming trip to Death Valley with Travis and some friends. I think I need to rent a long lens since my longest focal length is 85mm right now. I may rent the FE 100-400 to capture intimate landscape shots. Thoughts?

When I print for people and they want the border I do it in Photoshop.

To add the border just go to image canvas size and click relative. Add the amount you would like. It will then put this around the image. I then add cut marks in my rip software to show where to cut.

There is possibly an easier way to do it, or you could make an action for it, but it works for me this way.

You can then resize the whole thing to what you want and send it to be printed.

Is this what you meant?
