that is the real challenge...finding something that does not look too much like something else...its not easy.

I agree. Millions of designs are out already. It’s really hard.

first shot was taken at 395ft above with the MP2 and the second one is my favorite of all. I took shots of all of those structures. 2 houses, 1 pool house and a shop/warehouse. It's for sale as one property.

Yep it works.
If I'd known about how good it is I would maybe still have the 500mm EOS.

In general, does a gimbal work well for shooting the moon or maybe tracking a plane in the sky? looking to do this with the plane through the moon shots ;-)a

usually a total PITA to setup and I've missed a few times due to the shaky or difficult setup.

On the way back to the UK for Christmas. We have stopped off in Hong Kong and managed to get down and see the Symphony of Light show on Hong Kong harbour.

Awesome show to see. Handheld on A7mkiii and Zeiss 35mm f2.8

Discussion Question:

What lens do you believe has the best bokeh for under $2000.

85GM pops to mind. The 50 1.4 looks sweet too and so does your Batis 135. For the lenses I own it’s the 35 sonar on my rx1rii
Edit - the FE55 has pretty sweet bokeh imo and a lovely transition

My vote would be the 85 GM. Like Eddie, I'm also a fan of the FE 55 bokeh.

Just want to clarify that I’m just curious about what everyone’s personal taste in bokeh is...this isn’t a lens recommendation request.

That said, I miss owning the Otus 55mm (though I have no regrets selling it), and it would be nice to somehow replicate it (if possible). For that reason I am indeed considering adding the Sony FE 50mm 1.4 ZA as it has some similar qualities (though the bokeh isn’t comparable). Other possibilities include CV 40mm, Sigma 40mm Art, Sigma 50mm Art. But none of that is really the reason for my bokeh question...I’m just curious what your personal bokeh likes are. :)

BTW, I put a $2000 cap on my question to avoid obvious stuff like 400mm GM or Canon 200mm/2, etc.

usually a total PITA to setup and I've missed a few times due to the shaky or difficult setup.

Got me on that one. Moon shots, 1/250? I know the Moon moves, faster than one would think.
How fast of a shutter to get the plane flying across the Moon?

More important might be the gimbal you choose and how high an angle it can swing to before the camera body/body+grip hit and stop the swing.
As far as fluidity that too depends on the gimbal quality. Something like a Jobu Junior (and many other good ones) are perfectly smooth...and as mentioned,
when balanced stay where you put them.

I can only think through this, and sadly don't have a concrete answer for plane flying through Moon shots :(
