posting from the road...a black and white from up in Rainier...I really wanted to do more black and whites...but that evening was just too good to lose the color, but I thought this one converted nicely.

I don't think I've yet used 12mm the way (according to Ken Rockwell) I'm supposed to.
But I used the FE12-24 every day out west, even used it more than the FE24/1.4.
The bierd venues were really over quick and that had me putting up the 400DOii and FE100-400GM. Kinda nice to
wield the smaller landscape lenses :)

Amazing tonality from a 'sports' sensor don't you think!

I did the firmware update today on the a9 (the Riii too). Cake walk.

New computer finally :)
Poof inherits the CyberPower.
Not much of an upgrade.
Did Dell this time. Poof and I both use the XPS touch 13 laptops with never a problem
so ordered a Dell.

I'm not up on the must haves so the basics are-
Intel Core i7-8700K, 6 Core, 12MB Cache, 3.7GHz, 4.7Ghz Turbo w/ HD Graphics 630
64GB (4x16GB) 2666MHz DDR4 UDIMM Non-ECC
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, 8GB, 3 DP, HDMI, DVI-D
M.2 1TB PCIe Class 40 Solid State Drive
3x 2.5 inch 2TB 5400rpm SATA Hard Disk Drive

Could have gone up a notch on the video card but I don't game much.
Did add an optical dirve but that cost me 2TB in storage. I'll have the 'old' system
running beside this one so still have 7TBs there.

Why? Why not.

I did go with the max number of USBs and USB-Cs I could. Seems like I can have 2 external hard drives, phone, GPS
all at once.

This one works for me Travis. Nice tones.

I too was in the mood for some creative black and white. I had this concept in my head to catch a random stranger walking across this historic building in San Antonio. The building is our local newspaper called the Express News. What I wanted to capture was a person walking into this shaft of light to create a moody black and white image.

SATX skyline on a beautiful sunrise. I kept the city in shadows to keep the mood of the image intact.

Guilty pleasure: shooting with the 24-240, twice this week already. Sure as heck helps having 240 on tap. Having 2 kids on me, I can barely move around.

Commented on this one at FM.
Such a powerful image.
I am in another genre of photography eh, but I can appreciate the emotion of this.
I am relfected mentally to many 'mental' images of my past, most notably (and don't laught, must be Christmas time)
Clarence get's his wings! I know crazy, but when I first saw the image I thought of 'Its a Wonderful Life' with George on the bridge.

Because of you I've thought about re-adding the 24-240.
It is the Universal lens.
Still holding onto dough for the mini-a9 though.

Clear night :)
You speak the talk of necromancers and prestidigitation.
We suffered a week of snow peaking at 12 inches. Then rain. A touch of cloudy mix
and now more snow in the forecast.
Well I plan to be snowbound soon enough at the cabin.....with bierdseed out for the Juncos :)
