finally got around to re-editing this one, brightened up a bit, and did a lot of cloning work to remove a couple signs, a lamp post, and a lot of homeless trash and tents...I was really surprised at how much of that there was all over the city, and in the green spaces, and nothing was done about it...there are areas that were just trash piles...

A quick from today. More of a snapshot really. We decided to go for a family walk to clear the Christmas cobwebs and headed to an area near us called Dovedale. Somewhere thats popular with tourists. Anyway as always I had my camera (this time with 16-35 f4) attached, managed a handful of mediocre-ness however I was quite pleased with this. I have it as an area to return early one day (before the throngs of public) on my own with tripod and filters to try and create something better. Anyway here’s the shot.

Lee, you still capture amazing images with the OG a7, puts a lot of us with new bodies to shame.

Thank you :) Most of my subjects are fairly stationary :) I would like a joystick for focus point control though....... That's about the only thing I miss (from the 5D2) but I've managed 3-4 years without.

It really is. Its the first time I’ve been in years and I’d forgotten just how beautiful it is. So much so I am planning on heading back one morning when time allows. Just looked, its only 2 1/2 hours from Bristol ;-)a

Looks to be around 150-200'. I found the perspective at that level to be the most interesting.

Agree. Too high and it loses visual impact.

Just found a really annoying limitation of the DJI mimo app. If you shoot clips in 4K you can’t down load them into the app to edit. That also means you can’t use the story function within the app to piece together clips with music to make short videos. If you record in 1080p it’s fine. What a joke. I googled a bit and found a DJI forum member saying they were working on it. You would think that since it records in 4K the app can actually use the files - nope

Looks like I’ll have to pick up Final Cut Pro sooner than I thought

From what I can tell, the majority of features and accessories are planned for end of Jan.I personally think that was meant to be the original release date but probably rushed it out to make the most of holiday sales.

Thanks DLee, me, I prefer G=lighter in many ways ;)

No problem :) I don't mind what type of lens it is as long as it has great IQ and is around the same size as the 85mm f/1.8 haha.

Please, please, please be true. Might just pickup a 28 for the time being, want a prime on the semi-wise side and don’t want to deal with the 1.4 lottery and the Sigma is too big for what I want. The 35 2.8 is a fine lens but want something faster for indoors. I want something between the 55 and 85 in size.

People seem to be requesting this lens for ages now and with both Sony/Nikon releasing their FF bodies with 35mm f/1.8 lenses, I think it got more likely. I was also stuck for 35 options and was so close to getting the sigma multiple times but couldn't do it.

Beautiful light and great point of view. I wonder how close this is to the junction of the Guadalupe River and the San Marcos River? Shortly after my 3rd great-grandfather James Hodges, Sr. arrived in Texas, he made arrangements to purchase four leagues (17,712 acres) of land situated in the forks of the San Marcos and the Guadalupe Rivers.

Thanks Gene. I’m not sure where the junction is. It would be a nice exercise to find out.

It's just west of Gonzales I believe. Here's a map of that area from 1839. Note where Gonzales is in relation to San Antonio de Bexar.

Thanks MM, I agree, the autumn colours would be stunning. I may even try and make a set, one for each season. After all it is about a 1 hour drive followed by 30 minute walk from where I live
