Wow, serious heart attack burgers, love it ;-)a

definitely!! :D you should give it a try when you're near bella terra in HB. it's by the van's skateboarding ground across from costco.

the onion rings are good. and also the chili cheese fries or tots. i prefer the tots but don't have the pic.

I also used to go to portos alot for breakfast for a time. lazy and over with the craze but I'll still go sometimes for a nice hot beverage and sandwich for breakfast. this one's the Italian but my favorite is the tuna melt.

I've never even heard of those other restaurants you mentioned. Sometimes I think I live in the 'boonies' here. ;-)a

BTW, did you, or anyone else, check out the link I posted yet? That's the oldest original design McDonald's standing today and looks almost like it did when I used to go there as a teenager. I lived in the next town over from Downey, Bell Gardens.

just took a look. it's neat that they kept it that way. and wow it's not too far away from me too. everytime I see or think of the golden arch I think of coming to america. 'they have the golden arch. we have the golden arse.'

I can't remember, but did you mention you were in inland empire by san bernardino?

I do believe in n out is overrated. it's good but not the best burger. in the past it was a big wow because it was cheap and out of this world. but prices has gone up and all fast food is getting really expensive.

I'd toss the buns and dive in!

I believe it's still considered the Inland Empire. I live in Riverside County about 30 miles (as the crow flies) south-east of the city of Riverside.

I was born in Huntington Park and lived in Compton and Maywood but I spent most of my growing up years in Bell Gardens. My dad was born in Compton in 1910.

Is that one of the original McDonald's restaurants?

I watched Founder a couple of months back....really interesting backstory behind McDonald's

I just now tried for the heck of it but without success. I didn't spend too much time at the attempt though.

Ah rats. It's a really great photo...love how you can see the shift in the weather as your eyes pan across the frame.

It's always a bummer when a little technical niggles like cutting part of the rainbow off are there...but great photo and scene nonetheless.

One of the nice things about the flickr of old was the magic view, as it really helped find old photos that you might not remember by date....that's broken now after the smugmug migration and everything is lumped into like 5 broad buckets now. Another nail in the coffin IMO

I’ve never even seen magic view :D is that a pro feature?

One thing I’ve noticed about Flickr is that the activity is really poor I.e the amount of likes etc now when posting to groups is noticeably down

Probably because people are ditching the platform. Paid social sites don't work because it will kill community engagement...and let's face it, anyone who is active there is going to need more than 1K photos. Imagine if facebook or instagram started charging a fee.

Things have been tight financially since I started my second in private school....but I've drawn up a gear roadmap for myself. Trying to be practical about it and focusing on things I need and not getting caught up in gear hype.

-a7rII and Sigma 135 were recently sold.

-85GM and FE 35 1.4 are keepers. Staples in my kit. FE 50 1.8 stays because why not? It's compact and fun to shoot with.

-Swap Loxia 21 for 24GM. Love the Loxia, but the 24GM can do double duty for landscape and documentary/wedding work....wide angles aren't flattering for people, but getting close with a wide FOV puts the viewer in the middle of a scene and its a cool look to incorporate here and there.

-I do need a telephoto for wedding work, and 70-200GM is the best tool for the job...BUT, I'm going to take a look at how well the new Sigma 70-200 f2.8 since its officially supported by the MC-11. Can also double as a posed portrait lens of course...likely not as good as a telephoto prime, but realistically, probably more than good enough if I take my head outside of technical characteristics.

-On the UWA side of things, less of a priority for me so I don't need super critical IQ here, but I do want the capability in my kit. 16-35GM is more than I'm willing to pay for a specialized need. I think it'll either be Laowa 10-18 or Sony 12-24.

-Will acquire an a7III as a second body eventually.

-Lastly...goal is to re-acquire an RX1rII. Probably the most fun I've had in a camera and when I look back at old images I shot on that thing, the rendering and sharpness wide open standout as something special.

Looking back at this...at one point my kit was basically perfect....but sold a bunch of crap off in 2017 because I was out of work. Sucks, but such is the life.
