If any of my old Sony friends are interested, I'm still trying to sell my 24-240.

One of the last shots I got with my A7R3. I miss the 42 MP...

Damn.... Cheap decisions......

I sold my FE35/2.8 for £335 due to the upcoming FE35G announcement.... Plus I was hardly using it too!!

If the new 35mm is a G, it has to be priced a fair bit higher than the 35/2.8 right? Which is currently about £675ish here. So let's say it's going to come in at nearer a grand. That's a lot of money for a lens for occasional AF use.

I'm thinking of a used Samyang 35/2.8 just for those odd times I (the kids) may need/want AF.... I've seen used ones going for under £200 & currently one for £155!!

that's a great price for the samyang!

the 35 f1.8 unicorn, lol, simply cant trust it will ever materialize, and I'm ok with that, the Tamron 28-75 fills that void. Would be nice to have for sure, have zero expectations for it. It's sorta like the Canon 100-400ii for canon, I recall the rumors dating back many many years, just never materialized until people totally forgot about it.

I picked up the Sammy 35/2.8 last summer when Adorama had a used one for $175. When it arrived it was like a brand new lens and even included the zippered case! IQ is on par with the FE 50/1.8. It feels cheap due to plastic construction but that also means you won't feel it on the front of the camera body. The flat pseudo "lens hood" tends to come off easily. Other than that, it's a great walk-around lens for the price

I have only tried it out around the house but it works well with my SmallRig L Bracket and is light but very stable too.

Thoughts on adapting the 17-40L for landscape? I have the Rokinon 14mm, but sometimes the distortion and lack of filters kills what I'm aiming for. I already have 77mm ND filters so that goes in favor of the 17-40. I'm not looking to spend more than $400 or so and AF speed doesn't matter at all. I would love one of the native 16-35s, but they are just too far out of budget.

I had the 17-40L for a long time, really a great value and underrated as a lens. It was sharper on the Sony bodies than it ever was on Canon...but its not as sharp as full FE mount lenses...and because of that, I would say if you can save up a few extra bucks...go the native mount route.

That is incredibly cool, and a serious accomplishment. Congrats.

Well....Death Valley is over...I spent the entire 4 hour flight home starting to sort and rate images...made it all the way to the final day...it was an adventure for sure...great hanging out and shooting with Alfredo for an extended period of time...I am sure we are going to overload y'all with pictures for what will seem like forever...sorry...not sorry.
