Robert, beautiful shot of the Cardinals, these little guys are pretty rare here in the city where I live but they do come around now and then but I've never been able to capture anything remotely as good as what you have been able to show.

Too kind Jose! 8 at minimum daily in the backyard except one freak day last week when I could find nary a bierd.
They remind me of parrots/the beak shape.
Well I'm really enjoying the 300mm on the Sony since Sony doesn't have a 300 prime in FE mount.

First edit...I wasn't sure where to start...so I picked one from the first night, sunset at Zabriskie Point. The color went wild to the South...and while I liked the actual main feature of Zabriskie Point, this mud slide formation or whatever it is really stole my attention...it was the first thing I photographed when we arrived, and it was where I caught the best color from the night. Spent a little more time editing this one than usual...but I like it.

It's about a five-hour drive from my place to the Oasis Resort at DV. That just might be doable for me.

Give me a year notice and you could have a hillybilly come along.

Love it! Dang, I look like I'm frozen stiff. Ok, now where is the one with the yoga poses?

Moonrise over behind Zabriskie Point. I have another shot with some people in the foreground that I will work on next.

Looks like renting the 100-400 was a great idea.

yep, he is in the blue cap...me on the far right next to him...a friend Justin next to him on the left, and my buddy James on the far left. Alfredo's friend Peter did not join us on the Playa outing...

i like the size of the 1635GM compared to the Canon rivals. Yet to test it.

Heck, with my health issues, I'm lucky to get a day's notice myself.

100-400mm looks like a great landscape lens. Great shots!

Thanks David! Yeah the FE 100-400 worked out pretty well. The only issues I had was when it was windy. I shot more than I needed just in case one of the shots was blurry. The lens is quite sharp and not too heavy for hiking. The sand dunes though were killer.

man, that really works nicely for that...very nice.

Haha, thanks for posting that. I guess I need to work on my static pose.

Thank you! I was happy with the way it turned out.

Yep that's me next to Travis on the right. I had not shaved in days but at least I bathed.

One more moon shot but a wider view placing it into context with some tourists.

Very interesting. I don't think I've seen either of you in front of the camera before. You guys don't look anything like I imagined at all. :-)

Vinz, not sure if you purchased it or rented it. Regardless, I would say it's an excellent overall lens. I used it quite a lot on my recent trip. I even shot astro with it which worked out fairly well. It's biggest issue and it's something that Travis also experienced is when it gets dark out, the AF struggles to lock on. The Batis lenses don't have this issue nearly as much. The 1635GM also tends to produce more lens flare but still quite manageable. Overall, I would still highly recommend it if you needed a wide angle zoom lens.

Yes i purchase it to replaced my Zeiss 1635F4. I know it's not so much of an upgrade since the Zeiss F4 is already great. i will use it for events and astro too so the F2.8 is why I upgraded.

Selling the F4 now. I gotta take a pic of it first. Selling my 35F1.4 too. i know it sounds crazy but i'm ok with the 35F2.8 from the 1635GM. Less lens for me. 85GM, 1635GM and the 50F1.8
