Damn! I wish I had done an LE there...this turned out great!

Thank you sir! I wasn't sure if the clouds were moving fast enough for this to work but took some shots anyway.

I think I used my 6 stop with the SR app but it may have been my 10 stop ND.

So I mentioned Mesquite Dunes being the place that I feel like I made the most editable images...I think that was due to the light changing, and lasting so long...someone else told me today that in the morning, the good light lasts less than 30 minutes...in the evening it was much longer than that...the time from my first image to the last was 90 minutes...most of my time when we got there was spent trying to get out to a section of the dunes with little or no people...the central section is just ripped up with foot prints...I saw a section out to the east that I liked, almost no people...except the young couple making out under one of the mesquite bushes......but I found a few shapes and formations that I really liked...wished I had that 100-400 though...200 was nice, but it gets softer with the 2x, so I avoided it.

Anyway...this was a section that was relatively free of footprints, and still had some striations in the sand from wind and some color variations and patterns from rain the week before. The color typically exploded to the south...and from what I have seen, down at Badwater this particular sunset was EPIC...but I liked the soft light and colors in this one.

Strange field with salt crusted rocks everywhere. I framed this shot with a long exposure capture of the ominous clouds.

Dug something out of my raws and processed it for fun. Whenever I do these cosplay shoots in public, people inevitably get enamored by seeing their favorite characters in person.

Cinematic style PP (Civil War as my reference style), 16x9, and black bars for effect.

Nice look at what I presume is the snow topped eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevadas as a backdrop too.

Outstanding shot Travis! The color to the south was indeed nice.

Thanks! Yeah, that happened a lot, the best color was well off axis with the sun...made fore easier shooting!

Hehe yes I fall in and out of phases where documenting them is a priority with my photography. I need to stick with it, as I've learned with my eldest just how fast they grow up and how important it is to capture these while I can because they're over too soon!
