This is what I am trying after watching the Mark Galer video about it.

This is the way I shot on the a7rii too. It’s the quickest way I’ve found to control the auto iso minimum shutter speed when switching between static and moving subjects. I do it on the rx now too.

Caught an amazing sunset tonight with the mavic pro. I’ll edit and post up when I get home from this Campervan trip later in the week. Best sunset I’ve seen this year so far (edit - probably the only colourful sunset I’ve seen this year now that I think about it!)

Final edit thanks to Gene's suggestion and method. Took less than 1 minute to
correct what I didn't like.
As always Gene thank you very much.

Thanks Eddie. Yes combination of wind, rain, cold, and ice.

I like the reverse leading lines that lead away from the main subjects to the vista behind them.

Thank you!

I use multi for 98% of shots with spot metering for some shots (backlit shots)

Do you shoot in AV/TV as well or M?

navydoc wrote in post #18808362 (external link)
With my a7r3, I also like using Spot Metering tied to Focus Point Link so that wherever my Flexible Spot focus point is, it will meter for proper exposure at that point. I think this is very useful for portraits or images of single objects.

Note too how multi metering works when Face Priority is also selected.

From the 'Help Guide'

Yes I have read that most people suggest using Spot for portraits.

Mark Galer's video is pretty informative too

Yes for portraits spot metering with focus point link.

Highlight metering for landscapes.

First time back on a snowboard in 13 years! Last time I was on this thing I left in an ambulance! I've been only skiing for a lot of years since.

DJI Osmo owners.
i have an excuse to add one IF.....
Can it be charged/how so in a remote location with only a few solar panels, e.g. a place
where they told me to bring extra charged batteries for any camera.
Be nice if it could charge like Sony cameras via usb, I can bring along a 22,000 mamp-hr
charging brick (usb).

It charges via usb-c to usb-a cable so if you have a charging brick you can charge it

Last time I boarded (early 50s) I ended up having to sit on one side of my butt for about months every time I used the bathroom....it was the last run of the day and I cracked my coccyx :(
