This is why I use Av. Aperture is most important to me for creative purposes...especially when when shooting people. So I set the aperture to my desired effect and just keep an eye on the SS making sure it's fast enough for crisp pictures. Tweak ISO and EC as needed.

This is actually when I'd switch to manual...but I suppose Tv would work as well. I just can't wrap my head around letting the camera choose the aperture.

Yes I agree that aperture does have the bigges creative effect and best to choose yourself. For me it's fairly easy to set aperture since I only ever shoot wide open well I do stop down sometimes for stuff like product shots but I prefer to leave it wide open haha

glasses...glasses do that and mess up EYE-AF...

well, TBH...its not the cameras fault...its really the glasses...they tend to make things less sharp as seen by the camera...

Thanks for the link and can't wait until it's out. I don't really have any complaints about the AF now but the update will be welcomed.

Absolutely no noise reduction. In fact, I didn't edit them at all until I had stacked and merged it in photoshop and then dropped it back to lightroom, and then it was very minimal editing.

My mate that was stood next to me did the method you used and it comes with a different look when processed. He was using a D750 and unfortunately, the internal intervalometer kept stopping and he ended up with breaks in his star trails.

I'd like to try maybe 30 x 5 min exposures and see what that looks like next. Might have a look this weekend if the weather is right.

Thanks so much David! I wish I would have gotten much closer to the footprints.

Inspired by Gaab, I thought I'd try a five minute exposure from my driveway to see if I could find Polaris. There is so much light polution where I live that I can't see it with the naked eye.

I thought the best way for me to display this was to make a video from a single frame where I zoom in on Polaris. Maybe I should have added an arrow pointing to it by the end of the clip?

I rendered it out in 4K. Shot with my Laowa 15mm lens.

I love the fact that I can even see subtle changes in the tones of the mountains in the background. I think this is one of your best!
