Could it be a video card issue? I believe that feature is gpu driven

That's my guess. I have an old Titan Black card. Guess I'm going to need a new RTX 2080! :p

Thanks Eddie! I got three birds in one shot (on top of the far posts), so the Loxia 21mm proving to be a great bird lens. :p

Weird. When I run Windows Update it says I'm all up to date - nothing to install.

yeah, me too...I dug into it...if Windows finds an issue in your system, it won't tell you that you have an update...it will tell you that you are up to date for what they have determined your system can tolerate.

Mine did too but I checked for updates anyway and that's when it showed the update from version 1803 to 1809. Everything went smoothly and I now have the latest version of Windows 10.

Thanks Travis. It's an example of the shooting away from the sun sometimes gives better color. I had been shooting from the other side, but I was walking back to the car and saw that great red cloud, so I ran back for this one.

Thanks! No tbh I’m totally not sure about that. Not because of the images...pretty sure I’d have gotten similar results with the CV 21mm. I prefer the CV bodies by a lot, but Loxias have advantages too. I really do appreciate the consistency of the 52mm filter thread. I also like the general consistency of lens sizes from one Loxia to another.

does anyone rent the CV21...I have not found anyone that does...LensRentals has the rest but not that one...to me, I would want to look at files from each of the same scene, to decide which image is better...I am much more interested in the IQ over the use of a lens...but agree that the CV lenses are quite nice to operate.

That's why I ended up with the Loxia 21, 35, 50 and 85. That's about all I shoot except for my 12-24. I tried the 24-105 and it's a nice lens, but the Loxia primes cover most of that focal length so I'm going to sell it.

My 2019 priorities, by far, are more about AF lenses.

My daytrip yesterday had a two-fold purpose: 1. get some landscape photography, and 2. evaluate my interest in wildlife photography. I’ve been waffling about getting into a little wildlife for years, but it’s starting to make more and more sense to me. There are some decent wildlife opportunities near me, and some great ones along the Florida panhandle. Seems like a lot of retirees get into the birds.

My next two lenses most likely to be 24GM and 100-400GM and, if I really want to shoot wildlife, going to need a new body for it because the a7R II is a turd for action.

David, you've probably read this already but just in case. Looks like a great lens.
