I think this might be one of my favorites from the entire trip...that afterglow and burn in the sky was crazy...we all thought it was done and then it started to go off again...this was fresh mud from recent rains, that little stick thing was there, I didn't touch it or place it..that mud was too delicate to get near it...3 images to get this, not for focus stacking but for blending manually. The brights were too bright and the darks were too dark to recover from both and not get noisy...and I want to print it big for an upcoming show.

That’s great to hear! If I do get the 100-400GM I’ll go all-out and get both TCs.

I keep wrestling over which body I should get and can’t make up my mind. There’s a really great case to be made for either a7 III, a7R III, or a9.

I'm not sure if the Riii has auto focus at f11. You would pay to check that before dropping any money. I remember reading it was a big thing with the 7iii as most cameras only focus at f8 with 2x on

Gene’s got the a7R III and 100-400GM + 2x...think it works good for him, but I’m not 100% sure. I am indeed leaning towards going with the a9, though the better sensor and lower price of the a7 III are very appealing.

You do get AF at f11 with that combination but it's contrast detect rather than phase detect at that f-number. In my limited experience, it still works fine in good light but is a bit slower. Robert can probably be more helpful if used for birds in flight. I don't think I've used it for my hummingbird shots in flight.

thanks. it's a certification if you wanna use your drone commercially. you don't have to for hobby but you still need to follow the FAA regulations like not flying near airport, not flying above 400 above ground level, etc.

i used to love the 135mm. perfect for portrait except when there's little kids. it's hard to engage on them when you're too far away. i'm having a hard time getting their attention. they look everywhere. When you're close it's easier. if you wanna do candids shots on them it should be perfect.

the 105mm focal length is perfect if it's not a giant.

Congrats Vinz!

A shot of the rock formations at Golden Canyon behind Zabriskie Point. If you look real close to the right, you'll find 2 hikers standing on the ridge.
