Meant to say, also looking forward to see the eye af improvements on the a7riii with firmware 3.0 in April. That might just be enough to scratch my a9 itch

What will the differences in new March firmware between a7R III and a9. Everything the same, or will a7R III get more limited enhancements?

A9 gets the full real time tracking (or whatever it’s called). A7iii and a7riii don’t get that but get improved eye af, a built in intervalometer and a couple of other features from memory

Edit - this link explains it better than my attempt https://m.dpreview.com …r-iii-and-a9-improving-af (external link)

Did I miss that one! I think we should all do one of these.

I took this one back on July 6, 2017. That's a bottle of Pilsner Urquell I'm looking at.

Did you notice my sig on the open door of the frig? ;-)a

Some shots from today. My typical use case for the RX1RII. Rainy day so took this as my only camera and then snapped some photos when the rain went of briefly

Hi Folks

I'm planning a trip out to Banff Alberta in late May early June of this year and I'm starting to think about an appropriate hiking/photo backpack solution. I don't plan to be doing extensive multi-day hiking into the mountains, more likely single day trips at most from a base site. I'm thinking about solutions like the F-Stop bags and ICUs or alternatives, perhaps and Osprey system with ICU ?. The bag will need to be carry-on compliant, last thing I want to do is check it in. Any thoughts on what might work for this?

another money saver idea for me is the laowa 10-18mm and shoot in crop mode.

having a second camera is better though. for events and even as a backup in RE if the other cam is acting up.

I would think that the MF only lens would slow you down shooting RE...unless you really needed a TSE, I would shoot with AF for REP.

From what I’ve seen, top bags include Shimoda, Fstop, Mindshift, and Atlas. I included the Mindshift since I’ve been quite happy with mine. I also own an older Fstop bag which I like a lot.

Yeah I've found the same thing. Counted calories (exercise - food intake) for a couple months last year and dropped 15 lbs. Maintained it until the holidays when I put 5 on. Started counting calories again in Jan and have dropped 8 so far. I keep things really clean during the week, but mentally on the weekend don't count calories for my own sanity (I still try to use common sense most of the time and have my weekend work-outs at home.)

Best part about is that because it's not so extreme, it's something that can be reasonably maintained over the long-run. It mostly involves portion control and making sure I put enough effort in when I exercise. Trying to create enough of a caloric deficit to treat myself later is great motivation in the gym :-)

Just remember it is impossible to exercise away poor eating habits.
For decades I swam. My longest swim ever was 6 miles. It took 2:58. In that time
I would not have burned off a double Whopper and Biggie Fries. Humans are just super efficient.
Now I'm older you'd be shocked to see what little I actually eat.

Besides extreme low carb---I'm at 20grams or less/day, Poof is Paleo and often is less than 5 grams----we also count
calories. Her food intake diary is a study in dedication and precision....digital scales on the counter in the kitchen level.

99 percent of the time obesity is a choice. That means for a huge majority of us developing adult onset diabetes is a choice
we make and of course that's not the only disease stemming from hundreds of pounds of sugar and processed wheat consumed
each year.

Keiran was outside with his new telescope having a close look at the moon the other night so I grabbed the A7 & my little cheap tripod (the Red Snapper lives in the car!) & literally just pointed it upwards from the garden. 70odd% moon & light pollution galore but it was more to see what I could get away with regarding shutter speeds & ISO etc

Sony successfully forced me to buy the A7iii only because they don't have MRaw. should be with me tuesday. it looks like better in low light though from the reviews so we'll see.

Well my friend you can say that but truth is you're working pro and needed at least two bodies. Can you admit that ?????????
Who am I to lecture :)

The 3rd shows some serious separation of subject to background.
A powerhouse that is so small. Yep no excuse not to take it out with the kids or anywhere really.
