Not to jump into the middle of your conversation but just wanted to say that a year and a half ago, I had ordered some driving lights for my motorcycle that were coming from either Japan or China, I can't remember which, when I placed the order they immediately sent an email to me saying that the expected delivery was a month later, no problem. I waited and waited the month came and went, I sent emails to them and they said it had shipped already, I waited and waited. Finally, two and a half months more (total of three and a half months) I had enough, I tried to contact the seller but no joy so, I contacted Amazon and let them know the situation, Amazon immediately refunded my money. Two or three weeks after the refund, the package arrived. I contacted Amazon and told them that I received the lights, they said don't worry about it, I tried to get them to take my payment for the lights but they said the system will not allow them to do that and that it is covered by Amazon so for me to keep it and not worry about sending it back to the seller. I felt bad about it for quite awhile but I finally resolved to the idea that they had really poor communication which created the situation.
My point is, don't be surprised if your order shows up afterwards even though Amazon has refunded your money. I really like Amazon they are definitely customer oriented.
Again, sorry to jump into the middle of your conversation.

No worries...It would not surprise me at all if it shows up at some point...I had a similar experience with a custom made Alcantara shift boot for my RX8...2 months after it never arrived I got a refund directly from the vendor...4 months later it showed up...

I did indeed. I value the great zoom range of 24-105 more than the faster aperture of the 28-75. And, since I just bought the 12-24, would prefer not having a FL gap from 24-28.

Eventually I’ll add the 100-400 with TCs and that would give me continuous FL coverage from 12mm to 800mm

That said, the Tamron is an excellent option and I’ll definitely continue considering it! :)

I figured it was the FL gap. Well technically the 24mm GM could fill that gap :p haha

I'm excited for Tamron to start making zooms, especially since they are more size conscience that Sigma and don't seem to have the QC issues they have.

Last night's experiment.
Travis will laugh knowing it is a 50 min drive for me to find any traffic like this.
I was using the Playmemories Light Trail app.
That is the reason I bought the a5100; it and the a7s were the only Sony's that could
emulate the Olympus Live Composite shooting which is awesome.

But I've sold off a lot of my mFT kit and Live Composite is now replaced by the Sony a5100.

Lens used was the Sigma 16/1.4 e-mount.

It was just a short experiment. At 22F even with gloves my fingers suffered quickly...but I was
navigating menus on the little camera with liner gloves on.

So Tamron will be releasing a 35mm f/1.4 in EF Mount. I wonder what the chances of us getting it in E mount are....

Between you and Dlee13 I’m having second thoughts about my 12-24mm/24-105mm scheme. Are you happy with the 28-75mm?

Minimum focusing distance of 7.48" with a 67mm filter thread. The Tamron 17-28mm will be a great size

The 28-75 rarely comes off my a7iii. I even forget to swap to the 85/1.8 when shooting portraits

It has definitely piqued my interest. Hopefully it’s sharp with good contrast wide open. Low coma would be an absolute bonus. This seems like a great travel lens and even has me thinking about the 28-75 for the same reason now

Are there any major negatives with the 28-75? (I haven’t been paying attention)
