Maybe a typo, you want the CV 35mm 1.7 don’t you?

Anyway, why not just get the amazing CV 40mm 1.2 (e-mount)?

I have a love/hate relationship with SF...my first trip out there was in 2000, and I have been back at least once a year since...and now every year...there are parts of that city I really like and parts I hate...and with everything that I have read, and the amount of homlessness in that city...crime is kinda high...and walking about with a few grand in camera gear on your back makes you a target...so I always feel like I have to have my head on a swivel and it makes me uneasy at times...and since I can't carry there...even more so...LOL...but I still go back...going in April for a week to work and spend time with friends...

my favorite place to be...my friends apartment...has the most excellent sunrise view...I love waking up in that space...cool breeze...cool air...great view...

We mostly stayed around the more tourist friendly areas like Union Square, Little Italy and Chinatown. In saying that, there was a lot of homeless even in the tourist areas like Union Square and it did feel uneasy sometimes. This is the first place I've visited in the United States so I got nothing to compare it to. Buildings wise it's very similar to Australia and we have a lot of Homeless in Sydney but nothing compared to SF.

The view in places like Battery Spencer is amazing though. I feel like if I lived there, I would be visiting that spot all the time. I'm very much a city person so despite its bad sides, so far I'm finding I enjoy SF more than Hawaii.

It is indeed! Enjoy your trip!

It's a 10 hour flight for me but I'm thinking it's even more for you! Thanks I will, can't wait to edit once I'm back.

Think we are about 9-10 hours to San Fran from memory and then 6 to Hawaii if my memory serves me correctly

Edit - out of curiosity I just googled farthest place from Scotland and this was the answer - “The furthest place in the world from Scotland is an empty square of the Southern Ocean, half way between New Zealand and Antarctica“

So not quite Oz but you are almost as far from me as is possible on the globe (I checked as I had it in my head it was Hawaii but it wasn’t)

Yuck. I've seen the CV 35mm 1.4 images and I dislike that soap bubble bokeh (also why I dislike the Loxia wide open) where I love the smooth bokeh of the 1.7 Ultron. But, taste in bokeh is totally subjective and looking through the images the soap bubbles aren't ruining every shot, so..... :)

The topless bars are still there but I think the hippies are all gone lol. We didn't go out much at night so didn't get to see the night life and club side of SF.

Quite interesting. I did read that mission district has some of the best food places too but my girlfriend wasn't willing to explore after going to Tenderloin haha. I thought the same, especially with me holding my camera and my gf with her Chanel bag. I think we got worried the most when we seen the guy waving the gun around.

I noticed a guy sitting in a BMW talking to this homeless women through the window which I figured was a drug deal but who knows. Na I haven't heard of it but will look it up!

Is Oakland still pretty bad?

Parts of Oakland are very bad. Like 95th thru 98th streets. Lots of gangs there

Darn I missed it. I thought they're going only to Samy's L.A.

Do you follow Manny or Diana on IG? That's how I found out he was coming to The City

That's pretty much the same for me except in the opposite direction, 10 hours to Hawaii and another 5 to SF.

When I check furtherst Place from Sydney it's all cities and not parts of the ocean haha. I think if you flew here you would need several stopovers or sit on a place for 20+ hours.

Is there much to see there? I know Steve Aoki has a new pizza place in Oakland.

Worse than Oakland used to be Hunter's Point. I don't know what it's like now though.

This is a six exposure panorama shot in portrait orientation this afternoon. It gives some idea of the snow Mt San Jacinto got yesterday.

On the far side of the mountain lies Palm Springs.

No sig on this shot.

Because of the cold weather, well, cold for here at any rate, I made some corned beef today. I love the aromas it fills the house with and using my instant pot, it turned out awesome. I planned on taking a shot after it was plated but couldn't wait. :p *slurp*

I'll probably cut thin slices of what's left over tomorrow for sandwiches.
