You bought an RP?

No. I had a chance to shoot a production version this weekend courtesy of the Canon Learning Center in San Francisco. I brought my A7R3 along for comparison purposes.

Someone here had previously mentioned the RP and RF 35 lens combo as a second camera, so I thought I'd post the comparison.

Going round in circles with the 24GM it seems. Can’t decide if I should sell my Batis for it. This video shows that they are very similar. It seems that it comes down to wether I need f/1.4 or not. The Batis used price is half of the GM new price in the Uk

Is anyone aware of any infinity distance side by side tests?

I have to kill you now for posting this.

I have a line on a 24GM available 1st week in march. GRRRRRRRR I could keep the Lox 21 and get a used Batis 25/2 for $750 us GRRRRRRRR

It really comes down to what you want from your 24mm lens.

If superior bokeh and astro performance (and probably overall sharpness) are preferred then don't even think about it - get the GM.
If bokeh and astro aren't important, then save some $ and get the still-excellent Batis

I was hyped-up to buy the 24GM, but happily have had to wait for stock to fill. Now I'm pretty much laser-focused on adding the 24-105 and 100-400 and a9 (or a7 III) first.

Its - Auto focus vs Manual and then Sunstars and Landscape. I would use the Batis walk around photos and use the Lox for tripod landscape. Its giving up the Lox and committing the $ and lack of sunstar to the sony GM that still confuses me. I would like one lens to cover both ...... Oh and the remodel took a huge chunk of money so convincing the wify is in the mix there somewhere.

Haha sorry. I think for me I’ll hold with the Batis 25 and when the used prices of the 24GM eventually drop closer to the Batis I’ll swap, but I’m in no rush so if that takes a year or so it’s fine

Well if bokeh and astro aren’t your priorities then you’ve at least come this far: don’t waste your money on the GM!

Color and rendering are quite a bit better with Loxia over Batis/GM. Loxia is a perfectly great walk-around too; no need for a tripod.

That's why I didn't finish....... ;) lol

I don't think the CV21 is going to be much for astro. Which I guess is understandable but I think it'll be enough for the very occasional shot. I popped out tonight but not really looked at them yet - They don't look as good as the CV40 shots from the other week.

Something I'd like to know about.
I'm taking the 24/1.4 up north later in the summer.

I'll see if they have done any videos

*EDIT*
No videos as yet, one of them may do one this week for his youtube channel, but the other gave this to link.

Someone was asking me about my "Domain of the Golden Dragon" certificate I own. This was for crossing the Intl. Date Line on the 8th of June, 1966 while aboard the USS Oriskany CVA-34. We had left Pearl Harbor a few days previous and were headed to Yokosuka, Japan. We did not cross the equator on this cruise to become Shellbacks and so I remain a pollywog to this day.

This was the aircraft carrier's 2nd combat tour of the Vietnam War and the cruise we suffered a fire that killed 44 men.
