When I had the Batis 18 I found that the infinity symbol on the oled (as soon as it appeared) would give me pin sharp stars. Don’t know if it was just a flood but it made night photography easier

And really, 18mm is plenty wide for any astro imaging I do. Website

I focus my CV 12mm by turning till it just says infinity. That lens is a pain to focus since the DOF is pretty huge even at 5.6. David | Flickr

That lens is a pain to focus since the DOF is pretty huge even at 5.6. I find the scale inaccurate (sounds like I need to retest) and just found the display was taking up space in the evf view. When I’m looking for maximum in focus I focus my cv15 the same way as my lox 21 by setting 5.6 and hard stop (lox just a tad back from it). Next time I’m using it I’ll see if that corresponds to the same reading on the evf distance scale Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

Would love the GM and I’m sure to be drooling over the images that get posted here, but the portability of the Batis suits me perfectly. _______________ Here is something from the FE 50mm 1.4 ZA. This lens will never be my Otus (colors and bokeh just not as perfect), but in the long run I hope it serves me better (less heavy, AF, no clunky adapter, etc.). I wasn't initially planning to post this image from St Marks National Wildlife Refuge, but the distinct layers of vegetation from the bottom of the frame upward appeal to me. The sky is a bit odd in that it darkens toward the horizon, but this was due to the hazy/semi-cloudy conditions that later eventually relinquished to clear conditions. This a single exposure, but I elected to run it through Photomatix (used the "Balanced" preset), then applied my own custom recipe in Nik Color Efex Pro (which I use on most images). ![]() Nice photo. This reminds of a lot of the vegetation in south Florida. Just a thought from Daniel

I really enjoyed that outing to St Marks Wildlife Refuge and we're looking forward to returning to the area via 5-nighter camp trip to Ochlockonee River State Park starting March 31. There is some variety in trees, but a lot of Pines and then the Palmetto leaves are extremely prevalent in SW Florida. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/zEUxiUJust a thought from Daniel
