We managed two of the main Waterfall Walks on Thursday - one fall was down 170 rough steps......and obviously back up! Quick bit of sunrise light today and two more single waterfalls before the predicted rain came in. Decided to head back home today in the end. Just in the local pub waiting for a steak :) They don't serve Haggis here.......

Anyone in here using the AD400? Considering picking one up...I have a Residential Portfolio shoot coming up next month, big high ceilings and big spaces, and I am a bit worried that the AD200 might not be strong enough...its an all day job that pays well enough to justify the acquisition...just wondering if anyone has it and wished they went to the AD600 instead.

Grab a second AD200 and get the dual head. That way you have the option of splitting the lights and lighting from multiple angles if needed.

I thought about that...but this space might need the 400 in the main room and a 200 off in another room to not have dark rooms in the distance...

Thanks for the info on the "Address to a Haggis" Youtube videos Eddie, I had no idea. It wasn't long after beginning to watch one that a translation was in order. I soon discovered that the person in question at a "Burns supper" was the Scottish poet Robert Burns who brought us "auld Lang Syne" as well. I also found a written version of his poem in Scots as well as an English translation.

I'd still pass on trying the dish though. :-)

Then somehow, I wound up watching "DUELING PIPERS" :p

if u think your pallete can handle it u may want to try Igunaq its a form of preserving used by the inuit. i have seen it in a few communities in nunavut, the areas are fenced off so polar bears and such dont disturb it, i wont describe what it is though,,,,,ill let u search it and see for yourself, every cultre has thier own way of preparing meats i guess,,,,,haha.

My latest iPad Pro experience:

Last night I imported my day's photos into LR CC on the iPad Pro. Very easy, works great. I then culled my photos and completed all my raw processing on the iPad Pro. Great fun, very smooth. Then I went to bed.

I wake up today to discover that after syncing for several hours not even one single raw file had been uploaded to Adobe Cloud. WTF?

So, I tried just re-importing the same files in LR CC on my PC to see what would happen. And the best thing did happen. All my edits in LR CC on the iPad quickly synced up to the raw files on the PC. YES!!! So cool!

This tells me that I may not need the extra space on the Adobe Cloud. So much to learn, but this was a big one in establishing my workflow.

I just decided to go for it so I’ll be coming along on the same journey when it arrives next week

since you guys seem to be knowledgable with mac's .. Im hoping someone can answer something for me.

I bought my gf a mac book air about a year ago.. I would swear that I bought her one with 256gigs. but no its only 128gb..

shes into baking , so she started getting into photographing her food and doing video.. even got herself a camera..

those 128gigs filled up fast of course.

is there anyway to work off of files on an external drive?

I am completely clueless when it comes to apple products.. I know with pc , you can do so using LR ..

she's only using LR for photos and iMovie? (I think thats what its called,, but its what ever movie editor comeswith it)

according to her its not possible.. but i'm hoping she's wrong

any help would be appreciated

I’m unfamiliar with the MacBook Air but you can do it on the MacBook Pro. If she can attach external usb drives then she can do it. Does the air have USB ports?

Yes she does .. she has an external drive she can save to .. But iMovie automatically imports to the main drive .. and then she says wont let her work off of the copy on her external.. when she tries it starts to copy it to her main..

Well have to bring it in to the store and mayb3 they can sort it out..its unfortunate as its brough her pics and videos to a halt..
She doenst like using my computer with premier as she finds it over whelming ..and gets frustrated
