this guy have a filter hack for it. 77mm filter + step up ring and just slide it into the hood.

check around 3:26 into the video

you dont need the stepup ring, that's why he can only go down to 16. Tape is all you really need, gaffers preferable. With the right amount of tape, you can get down to 14-15. If I put on the filter really carefully and check the 4 corners, I can get down to 14, no vignette. Sloppily putting on the filter, then around 14.5-15. 16mm is if you have a stepup ring, which you dont need, best to fiddle with tape, it doesnt take much effort to get it right I dont think. Took me like 5 minutes.

Palos Verdes off in the distance I presume?

Nicely framed view of downtown LA.

I dont think so, this is the Hollywood bowl overlook, and PV is too south? I think Chino Hills or Tustin, that direction. This is during sunrise

Brilliant shot!

One of these days I will gather the nerve to take a helicopter flight over The Strip...

Two more compositions from the Cross of the Martyrs during some nice light. People started to gather around as the light got really good. I didn't want to be that photographer to tell them to move when they were taking their selfies.

Loxia 21

On the first image, I got as low as possible and as close as I could to the shrubs. It's a 2 image focus stack. I'm still not 100% happy that the cross is so close to the horizon.

Just back from a trip to the coast. Took the camper to Charleston Woods where Poof
and I had the entire 6000 acres to ourselves. I'd been gifted a photographers pass to
Awendaw Raptor Center so that was next. For a raptor lover it is paradise even if the light
could have been way better.

With no 35mm f/1.8 announced yet I'm becoming desperate. Supposedly there are announcements due for the 7th of April so I have my fingers crossed.

Ebay AU often have 20% off sales every few months and I've seen the 35mm art for as low as $799 AUD from Sigma's Australian distributor. I'm thinking that I would honestly love an f/1.4 lens so maybe I could get the Sigma until Sony finally update their 35mm f/1.4 and if it doesn't require me to sell my kidney to afford it, I'll sell the 35mm Art get it....

I was planning on renting the Art as I found somewhere that charges $40 a day, but turns out there's a whole bunch of hidden charges so that $40 quickly became $200 :(

Thanks Vinz. I got 700+ shots of that bierd. He was just so willing to participate.
Note that this bierd was handled by a falconer and he could put the bierd straight at my
lens and zip 8 inches over my head.
