Thanks for bringing up the GoPro7 and its smoothing abilities.
I'd been looking at the others-Osmo and the like.
I've got prior knowledge of GoPro, and some might remember watch
one fly off into oblivion on a Phantom never to be seen again.

I'm thinking of more video effort on the trip end of summer. The GP7 would
certainly do the job.

Please remind me .....how can I charge in the field? or just bring extra batterires
along?

I’m planning on taking this to Kilimanjaro to charge in the field. It gets great reviews on other sites https://www.amazon.co.uk …sc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it (external link)

Out with that trip I’ll be using additional batteries . I bought these yesterday https://www.amazon.co.uk …=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image (external link)

Even though I've only owned it for 2 days, I am really loving the Sigma 35mm Art. I have now changed my mind about one thing though. When Sony release the 35mm f/1.8, I'll be keeping this baby. Only a 35mm GM that's smaller and lighter will make me give this up :p

Here's a self portrait as a test

Don’t say things like that. I can’t bring myself to buy it a 3rd time :-P

Kidding aside it is a great lens and I loved it both times previously. It’s also good for Astro (apart from the focal length) as it has no coma wide open

Haha don't forget they say third time lucky :p

I think sharpness wise my old Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS was the exact same but the f/1.4 gives a real 3D pop that the f/2 couldn't quite do.

BTW in regards to your video you did an excellent job IMO. Maybe next time you could mix in some timelapes of as I seen a lot of people do that too with travel videos. It's good you are persistent with it too and already made something really good, I gave up after a few failed attempts haha

Thanks Daniel, I actually planned on doing motion lapses with the Osmo Pocket but for whatever reason didn’t, apart from the little snippet of one in the video that I had to stop early due to the wind. I’ve got a few ideas of things locally I want to use it for though

I think once the extension rod finally releases they will be much easier as it has a tripod mount on it so you won't have to worry about any damage to the Pocket. But as I said even without any time/motion lapse the video is great :)

I use a little clamp that allows me to attach to my table top tripod. I also can attach the clamp to a QR plate and use the full size tripod. No more worrying about it falling over

Would that mount to something like a gorillapod too? Could be good to use outdoors too if so. The extension rod was meant to release in Jan and still no word from DJI...

Yeah it’s basically got two threaded holes on the bottom to allow attachment to any tripod screw. Alternatively you can attach a quick release arca plate and use it with a ball head. It would def work directly with a gorilla pod . Yeah the lack of promised accessories is a bit frustrating. Now that I’ve ordered the gopro I’m thinking I’m not going to bother with the dji extension if/when it’s released
