One thing I love about shooting the SATX Riverwalk is you don't have to look far to find a gentle s curve. I just had to wait for a few runners to show up to anchor the right side of the image. I'm starting to include more people in my cityscape shots lately.

Travis did you get My Dial figured?
It's in the manual somewhere.
I'll look more into it when I get home from the weekend.
I wonder if Mark Galer has a YT on it.....

Beginning at 13:30 in this video.

Agreed! The a9 beat the 1DXii, that I know from first hand, now we're hearing the a9 hands down
beats the D5......the DSLR is made dinosaur.
But 'My Dial' is awesome too. I'm already using it for fast fast exp. compensation adjustments.
I loved the folder view of burst shots on the Riii, now I can enjoy that on the a9---another huge bonus.
Kudos to Sony, a great job.
Some whined about having to reprogram their cameras. Took me 10 min's, but another 10 to get my head
around My Dial and what it can do for me.

Once the intervalometer gets here I'm writing Sony to say thanks.
Oh, did play with the eye finder (or whatever it is called). Doesn't matter so much to me and I bet animal eye finder
will be great for larger animals (can you imagine it finding the eye of an eagle???) but I did play with it and it is uncanny
how it finds the eye and so quickly. That said bears are the target end of August, maybe those eyes are big enough.

Brian Smith has a video & Mark Galer has a free ebook on how to record your settings, so no reprogramming will be necessary to retain your previous settings

Well, we have Keiran operating Capture One Express better than I can.....

Managed to get CS6 working on his laptop so today has been layer and masking lessons, healing brush, clone stamp, resize action making, keyboard shortcut remembering....

He's not doing too bad in all honesty. But I've already told him that when he looks back in six months time, they'll be rubbish

Maybe tonight I'll actually get the chance to look at my photos from Thursday night...... :-D

I really like this one. I love the green runner, looks like the green flash compared to the others.

Knew Galer would have something. He glossed over it I think.
My Dial.
As an example.
You could key map (custom key) the center push button in the rear big dial to My Dial.
In My Dial first push is Exp Comp. I push the center button and then turn the dial up or down to adjust exp. comp.
Second push cycles to Creative Style then turn big wheel on back to cycle through Vivid,Neutral,B/W, etc.
Third push cycles for something else.

I've only programmed Exp Comp.
I tap, spin, tap. Done.
And years of EOS DSLR use it was the same using the big wheel on back.

Galer was right in that not so much I'd add to My Dial...remember I just added one thing and
more right in that few will use all 9 possibilities.

Still nice to have more customization available.

I carried the Riii for my sunrise shots at Morris Island but I've learned to always have a RX100x in the pocket.
I think this one turned out OK for a 1 inch sensor.

Thank you. Yeah I debated whether to include the green runner but thought it looked cool. He was running faster than the others.

Nice! Everytime I think about selling my TS-E 24, I see a shot like this and pull it out to shoot with it. :-)
