OK Eddie, blaming you.
Hero7Black en route.
Discovered unlike my formor GoPro (the one I watched fly away on a drone)
no housing needed. That's a big plus. And as you mentioned (I think it was you?)
can put in non-fisheye mode, another plus. Can also USB charge from a brick, more
pluses :)

I just picked one up as well:lol:, thought it would be great to have for a couple of trips I have scheduled for later this year. Now I need to figure out all the necessary mounting hardware I'm going to need, there is a myriad of accessories out there.

I think I'm going to start with a dash mount, would be great to get some footage driving through the mountains. I also need a clip mount so I can clip it to the front strap of my backpack so I can use it during my hikes. I think I'm also going to order a couple of extra batteries and a dual charger.

GAS will get you. So glad that I’m over it right now. :-D

I'll revisit you in 15 minutes :p

It's a nostalgia purchase, sometimes that gets me. I remember travelling with a 24-70 and 50L, and wanted to relive that magic..... of course, that's along with the 21 + 35 (micro sized outings) and 28 + 50 pairing simply for the large aperture look. Of course I'm overthinking my gear, however a 5 lens kit for travel is still manageable right? :-P I dont even know what I'm doing anymore, vicious GAS disease

I am new to this forum and to photography in general. I bought a sonya6000 on recommendation from a photographer friend telling me it would be a good starting camera. I’m really just interested in taking family photos, especially of my daughter who is very active and constantly moving. Can anyone recommend a good lens for a newbie that would really make the subject stand out but also be good if the subject won’t stsy still lol. Thanks for your help.

Charlie, at the weekend I realised that the mavic 2 reverts to 30fps when using any of the “quickshot” modes so I have ended up with 24fps footage (drone, osmo and GoPro) and 29.97fps drone footage that I want to mix in. Is there any easy way of doing this without playing the 30fps at 0.8x speed? Is there software that can re-time the footage? (Is that what compressor for final cut does?)

Quite annoying. Thinking that going forward if I know I am going to be using the drone I should just shoot everything at 30

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy visiting here among some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable people in all things photographic. I'm sure you'll get good recommendations for your query about lenses, especially from the members that also have youing children.

large aperture prime/zoom and longer focal lengths. That would be the easiest..... well technically, the easiest is to select a nice background, but big lenses do help.

I think final cut and premier can retime, but it's too troublesome from what I recall. I would just slow it down and use shorter clips, those accessory shots dont have audio which can mess things up, and generally slowing down drone footage is desirable, gives a slightly buttery smooth feel to them.

The annoying thing in this instance is that I want to speed it up (boomerang quick shot) but it won’t let me set 1.6x on Lumafusion only 1.75

On 3/19/2010, I reconnected with a buddy of mine, a fellow DT, Danny Scanlon. We were stationed at Hawaii at the same time. That was the first time we'd spoken in 45 years. Dan was good enough to mail me some of his slides from Hawaii when we were stationed there as I had lost all of mine. I've scanned them and created a gallery of his slides.

Sadly, just two months later on 5/14/2010, I learned from a family member of Danny's that he had passed away. I'm grateful for having found him again after so many years and that we were able to share what we've been doing over these many years.

Here is the slide show if anyone is interested in seeing them. It's hard for me to believe that these were taken twenty years before some of you were even born.

I thoroughly enjoyed viewing the slide show Gene. I had my first birthday on July 7, 1965.

That is sad and shocking about your meeting and the soon-passing of your friend...that sort of thing always rattles me for some reason. Did you post photos of Danny at that time?
