Thanks Charlie, was keen to get your feedback on it. I added some of the sound based on what you said on the first video I done and it definitely adds to it. Good idea about adding some other sounds even if it isn’t the ones I actually captured at the time, I’ll keep that in mind for the next one.
With regards to the family I have quickly realised that video definitely is better than still photos for looking back on things (obvious statement I suppose since one is photos and one is video and sound but i previously didn’t appreciate what I was missing out on). When the kids are older and we look back on these videos it will be nice to see them walking and running about and hearing their wee voices which we wouldn’t be able to do otherwise. That’s me got the bug now so will definitely be capturing as much as I can of them.
All of that was shot on the GoPro and drone. I used the osmo too but didn’t include the clips. I didn’t use the osmo as much as my gimbal protector hadn’t arrived in time and with the controller wheel the hard case isn’t useable so ended up not taking it out as much as I couldn’t be bothered removing the controller all the time. We are heading away for another 4 day campervan trip next weekend so that will be the next family video I will be putting together.
awesome trips, and yeah, video is that extra dimension. I still have photo albums, but around my house, not as popular as videos, my wife would much rather share videos than photos to her friends. She has little interest in my photos
I gotta say that a lot of your footage seems high quality, it makes me question if it's worth it to travel with my gimbal....... My philosophy with travel is generally whatever I use at home I should use on trips...... just dont like the idea of traveling with so much tech.
That timelapse with the campervan, was that gopro timelapse or timewarp? I noticed a little segment flaw, and I dont necessarily know a way around it. I believe around the 56 second mark, you pulled into the parking spot and tried to slow down the footage. that part is choppy, but that's sort of what happens when you slow down clips that dont have high enough framerate (hence the popularity of high frame rate videos). Without the slowdown, the transition to camper setup would be too abrupt? I think in said scenario, I'de park and it the timewarp work for a few minutes just to get a one or two more seconds of footage for a non so abrupt transition. You may have encountered this by now, not enough footage at times, and that can happen when you undershoot or end clips a bit premature..... at least that happens to me a lot
