Looks good. I just use the osmo on its own as the ability to slip into my pocket when not in use is the thing I like the most about it.

Yeah, that works sometimes...but others I want to be able to see the scene better...I have pretty bad eyes...and that tiny screen is hard for me to see...tried to use it last night and can't for the life of me see what I am trying to record...so this should help..because if I get frustrated by it, I won't use it...so I might as well sell it on...but I really like the idea of the device...

I don't think the a9 gets an update...firmware took care of that.

I think we actually might see an a5, as Sony needs an answer to the EOS RP

Not sure I get why Sony needs an answer to a 26.2 MP mirrorless...isn't the RP in the same market range as an A73? If anything...Sony needs and APS-C with the body of the a9 that is a competent and fast sports type camera for people that don't want to drop the big bucks on an a9...

Too bad there isn't a firmware update coming that will give the a9, a7III, and a7rIII a flip screen like the a6400...only sideways! :-)

Eos rp is $700 cheaperthan the a7iii and is legitimately compact for a FF body. Canon brought the entry point for FF lower with the eos rp...its positioned to sell in really high volumes and Sony doesnt really have a product positioned to compete here.

Sony would have to remove the hump and ibis to get the camera down to that size and weight...... which would be pretty painful. Not sure I can handle no IBIS, even with using a gimbal for video, IBIS gets you that extra smoothness. I do feel that sony should make it regardless, FF A6400 for $1300-1500, would be a huge seller.

Off topic completely here guys but I’m travelling to Florida on the 3rd May and wanted to check the child seat laws. Can my 5 year old use a simple booster seat? (In the uk it now needs to be a high back booster and not just a booster base)

Thanks Charlie. The rental company wants $98 for an infant seat and $98 for a booster! So if we can at least bring our own booster it will half the extra cost. They want $270 to hire a satnav!!!!

for reference...

5 is fine for Booster seats, most go by height, if a child exceeds the height for the full backed seat...my daughter has been too tall for those since she was 4...

Eddie,

Use Google WAZE app on your phone for Nav. Works great and it's free.

They did say that another camera is due in June, maybe it is the smaller FF camera. If they were able to put a FF sensor in the a6xxx body style, I'd take a look at it. I just love the corner EVF style so much, I'm having more fun shooting my a6400 in the 2 weeks or so that I've had it than I did with the a7III in 4 months that I had it.

Thanks both. I use google maps on my iPhone as satnav but it just means I would have to turn on data roaming. It’s probably cheaper if I just go to a shop when I get to the states and buy a satnav. I’m certainly not renting one for $270!

Have you another video on its way from this past weekend away?
