I was away in the camper for 4 days again last weekend so made another video. All shot with the GoPro Hero 7. I was planning on using the drone but realised it was a military no fly zone when I got there.

Great video, the gymnast girl was really cool. Very nice having that beach to yourself. Photo frames work real well, gotta pick up that trick ;-)a

What a fun video Eddie! Really enjoyed your last video and this one was great too. Too bad you couldn't fly your drone this time, as aerial footage really added another dimension to your last video. Can't wait for your next video.

i got confession to make but it's not my fault.

When I bought my 16-35GM I thought I wanna return it and get a second body instead(the A7iii). When I initiated the return at amazon, it prompted me that i cannot return the lens because it may contain hazmat. When i bought it it came bundled with some cleaning stuff including some cleaning solution.

So I opted to chat with amazon customer support. Told the support I wanna return a week old lens but it won't let me, it says it may contain hazmat. then the support went on asking why i'm returning it blah blah blah. told the guy my reason and that i really wanna return it. So he asked me to wait a minute to see what's my option.

Here's what he said:

Support: Vincent your only option is a returnless refund
Me: What does it mean?
Support: $2199 was refunded to the original card you used to purchase, you may trash the lens, donate or keep. Is there anything else i can do?
Me: wait wait wait why? that's not good for the seller. if you want i can just return the lens and trash those cleaning liquid.
Support: The item maybe be hazmat.

at the back of my head I was like... If those are hazmat, why amazon shipped it to me?

then the support continues...
Support: Is there anything else I can help you with? If not please click the end chat button and have a nice day.

It was valentines day February 14, amazon gifted me with a 16-35GM.

I tried my best to return it but I fail. :p

hahahah nice!!! what a nice valentines present. If you really really want to, I can be amazon and take it back for you. posted will be paid :) waited till the coast was clear to talk about it? haha

so where is the bundle link ?

Loved it. I'm guessing the GPH7 was on Linear FOV? The stills were spot on focus-wise too. Were you using the new auto eye AF?

Nice way to start the camper trip with shots inside your van of Calum and the other kids. I'm glad you included ambient audio of everyone having a good time too.

Don't forget to have someone video yourself occasionally too. Your kids will love having moving records of both parents someday.

Not necessarily for public consumption but you might take video of a typical day at home once in a while. Maybe when you get home from work or at the dinner table. Set the camera up somewhere at dinner time, fire it up and then forget it's even there for a candid view of your family around the table catching up on the days events. Edit for brevity and content of course. I'd love to have something like that from my childhood. Sometimes videos of the ordinary things in life are good to record as well as special family events and holidays.

Thanks Gene. GoPro is in linear mode but stills were a7riii (I forgot to mention that). I’m a couple of firmwares behind though. Good point about getting myself in too, my wife keeps saying that. Funny you mention the everyday life videos, I’ve got an idea for “the morning routine” that I’ve been thinking about

A morning routine video sounds like a great idea. Hmmm...I wonder how the drone shots will look?

..and to be able to stand up afterward without falling down. I'd look like a drunken sailor after doing something like that (not that I ever could of course) -?.

I’ve been following this thread since around the time the A7RIII came out with the intention of buying a full frame Sony one day. I still can’t justify the cost of the A7III but today I ordered the A6400 and MC-11 and am excited for the 11 FPS compared to 4.5 with my Canon 6D and the vastly improved auto focus. The 6D still takes great landscape photos but for anything moving the focus just doesn’t cut it like today’s cameras. Can’t wait to get this camera and start using it.

:) . Speaking of the drone, I was actually wanting to try out the drones follow function whilst driving the camper that weekend but the plans were beat when I couldn’t take off. The drone is good for about 25-30mph in that mode. It can go 45mph but that’s with the crash sensors off. Really want to get some cool footage of it following the camper on a quiet country road

It was funny. In my head I could do a perfect cartwheel. When we were messing about on the beach I tried one. Turns out I’m older than my mind chooses to accept

I'm impressed by the performance of your Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 Di III RXD lens.

I'm also impressed by the amount of hair Calum has. :p

As a bald man, I’m also impressed with the amount of hair he has :-P

The Tamron is amazing. I haven’t used it much out with f/2.8 but it is mega sharp and focuses quickly. Loving the versatility. I’ve got some decisions to make before heading to Florida next Friday. I’m actually thinking I don’t need to travel with my B25 or B85. Thinking cv15, lox21 and Tamron 28-75 would cover my needs with minimal lens changing

Edit - and the cv40!
