I was away in the camper for 4 days again last weekend so made another video. All shot with the GoPro Hero 7. I was planning on using the drone but realised it was a military no fly zone when I got there.

Loved this Eddie! Well done. That Tamron looks really good too. Nice and sharp.

As a bald man, I’m also impressed with the amount of hair he has :-P

The Tamron is amazing. I haven’t used it much out with f/2.8 but it is mega sharp and focuses quickly. Loving the versatility. I’ve got some decisions to make before heading to Florida next Friday. I’m actually thinking I don’t need to travel with my B25 or B85. Thinking cv15, lox21 and Tamron 28-75 would cover my needs with minimal lens changing

Eventually I’m going to get talked into that Tamron. Great shots.

Thanks David. Prior to buying it I had seen some shots with busy bokeh that annoyed me but I’ve not noticed that with mine (or perhaps I’m just not as sensitive to it as I was previously?)

Been aloof lately.

I had to buy some new camera gear. In the "set up" type..... as in the "get me there" type of Photo Gear.

Did a a couples portrait session in Lancaster CA, at the Prime Desert Woodland Reserve. Cool little Grove of Joshua trees in the middle of the city. Had a Magmod Magspere on a Godox tt685s

David, when you use CPLs do you not use hoods? I bought a 67mm B+W KSM CPL for my Tamron (also fits my batis lenses) and realised when it arrived today it’s near impossible to turn with the hood on. Curious as to what you do

Went on a trip a few days ago, an alternative to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm.... kids loved it so much, planning to go again at the end of year. It's a huge park, will probably take us three days to complete. I got tickets for the whole family for as little as 1 peak disney ticket.....

Cool video Charlie. Liked the speed ramp at the park entrance and the transition away from the bbq. I go to florida on Friday so planning on making some videos at the theme parks too. Your video has got me excited for it

Knott's Berry Farm was a favorite place to go as a teenager in the early sixties. At that time, it was not fenced and the admission was free. It was a great place to take a date and just walk around or to go to the general store to buy some licorice and root beer barrel candy.

Unfortunately, after the park began to be overrun by 'hippy' type squatters, Knotts was fenced in 1968 and admission of 25 cents was begun.

As an aside, I bought my first house in 1973 and it was just a few blocks away from Knotts.

with my video scheming, I found a gem of a lens.

with clear image zoom automatic with this lens, the use is extremely easy for video, it has a powered zoom toggle that you use, which gets you from 24mm FF equivalent to 105mm. Some of the footage you see that has a lot of reach, a combination of the zoom + clear image zoom + digital zoom. Super small and flexible, small as the FE 35 f2.8. In good light, it's a stupidly flexible video lens, but sometimes I shut off my AF on accident and dont notice.... real annoying. Another downside is that it's a collapsible lens, and my pouch, the dashpoint 30, will not fit with the lens in shooting form, so I have to wait a second or two after I shut it off. Last downside, doesnt work with the A9? Works very well on the R3, and that's my intended body of use for this lens, the 16-50mm PZ OSS. Oh yeah, you can get the lens new on amazon for $140.... awesome deal on an awesome travel lens.

the flexibility of the sony mirrorless system is amazing for video, and for this vid, I should have brought along the FE 28mm f2 for a two lens combo, however I kept it super simple with one small lens for everything, including stills. No background blur at all, so I had to choose backgrounds + longer focal lengths :p

cool history, way before my time :-P

with knotts being soooooo inexpensive, cant imagine my kids will go to disney that often. Knotts feels like it's 2/3rds as big as disney, darn place was huge, and not outrageously priced.

From my house in Buena Park, I could see the Disneyland fireworks at 9 pm nightly. My first visit to Disneyland was in 1956 and my Senior Class of 1963 attended the 3rd annual 'Grad Night at Disneyland" that year. This was when ticket books were sold and had tickets of different values for different types of rides. That's where the term "E-Ticket ride" (the best) came from.

Here's the flyer I still have for our grad night in 1963.
