I can only watch after kids asleep, so thankfully it's only one a week, I can find a day. Epic storyline isn't uncommon with Anime, "One piece" is a gigantic storyline with huge character development. 800+ episodes, maybe 600 episodes in, you realize that maybe you're at a halfway point lol.

Totally worth the 800 episodes

Oh yeah anime is a whole different level. Naruto/Boruto has been running for over 20 years!

The thing with manga/anime though is that its full of loaded with fillers. Dragon Ball is notorious for this.

naruto/dbz, both had tons of filler. DBZ arch took forever to materialize, but when it did, was epic.

One Piece on the other hand, hardly any fillers, super quality story, but some of the older animation was lame. Everything is over the top, and still a great show.

I never got a chance to get into GoT....I probably expose my kids to too much adult content when watching things on TV, but GoT is on a whole different level so it just never happened. The thing is, I LOVE fantasy, but this just never happened.

But those marvel movies man. Connecting 22 movies over the course of 11 years into this overarching saga, while telling really great individual stories and building out all these characters...its a feat of storytelling that's unprecedented and stupidly ambitious. For fans of these movies, 11 years builds a lot of emotional investment into these characters and their stories, and the emotional payoff for those who've followed this closely all this time is huge. They really nailed the conclusion.

The funny thing is, outside of one big fight scene at the end of the movie, there wasn't much action

Yeah I think there is a huge difference between reading it in a book as opposed to seeing to on screen. I think it also depends on whether the victim of the gore is human or not. I never found LOTR gory in any way but man GOT is a whole different ballgame. I'm not a big fan of gore, I will never see slasher films it's just not my thing but one thing I did notice is that I became quite bit immune to the level of GOT gore as I watched more and more episodes.

I haven’t seen any of the marvel movies oddly. I’m a big fan of the batman movies etc but never got into marvel. I really need to make a point of checking them out. Huge GOT fan though! Can’t wait until tonight/tomorrows episode

Expecting an epic battle scene today !

i like half of the Marvel movies, im a giant Hellboy fan but haven't heard any good things about the new movie, even though i was looking forward to it since i loved the Guillermo ones and i don't watch or read any GoT stuff for fear of anything being spoiled. i too am excited for tonights episode.

been walking around the past 2 weeks with just the 50 1.8 STM on the A7iii and i feel like i can almost live with just that kit. haha, my wife would love that.

FYI: Game of Thrones winner, Sansa Stark, is the great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandmother of Ironman Tony Stark.

Looking forward to HBO and Marvel doing an epic series of 10,000 sequels and prequels to connect the two series. It will be fun watching the continental drift where old Westeros eventually splits up and becomes modern day Ireland and Great Britain.

Not sure about that, but link LOTR and GOT and we have a winner !

I also grew up with Tolkien, I think of the three movies the only one that I actually enjoyed was Return of the King but nothing compares too the book of course. My daughter is also a huge Tolkien fan she started reading incredibly early, I think at the age of 2 or 3 if I recall correctly and it was the first "grown-up " book she read when she was 6 or 7, she can still recite entire passages from that book which still amazes me today. Needless to say she's also a huge GOT fan and we are looking forward to tomorrows epic battle scene!

The books were phenomenal, but so much was left out of the films. I don't always mind this with book adaptations so long as the film can capture the essence of the books. The problem with the LOTR movies is that they took great stories, and turned distilled them into nothing but a sequence of really long and the over the top, but generic, action sequences. It was fatiguing after a while and there was no emotional investment to the characters even at the end of the three movies because there was no real development of them other than pushing them from one big battle sequence to another.

i liked the LOTR books and movies, the Hobbit book i didn't like until later on and was then very disappointed with the movies, probably because it lacked Tom "the bomb" Bombadil. haha.

Bombadil is in the LOTR (Fellowship) not The Hobbit.

EDIT: Spoiler for anyone that hasn't seen the LOTR or newest Hobbit movie. who ever you are. haha

haha, yeah since he wasn't in the movies it would of been cool if he was in the Hobbit movies, i mean they put Legolas and the other Elf warrior lady that were not in the books in the Hobbit. either ways, maybe i didn't like the Hobbit movie as much because the LOTR set the bar high.

For me I need 100% focus and I find that lately with the kids I’m having to split up whatever free time I had in many different ways. It’s like when I tried to watch the show Lost, I look away for one second and I need to rewind or else I have no idea what’s going on. Game of Thrones is like that, so many different characters that I lose track who is who.
