I've just been linked to this Photopills video about shooting the full moon rising behind the Auckland sky tower.
I've already shot this picture, but will be trying again for sure if the weather is right.
At the 4.25 mark on the map the red line is showing where the best spot to shoot from is. I live pretty much on the little number 18 just to the right of it :) Woot, won't have to go far from home to get this one. I'll look at hiring the 100-400 Sony lens for this day now.

Here's a shot I got last year from a little bit closer to town. This was with my 70-200, so I hope to get a better version of it this time :)

not quite so easy unfortunately, the best spot is in the middle of the mud flats down by the marina. I'll have a look from a couple of the streets on the way home tonight.

Only Gene can make vinegar look good.
As always love the sig.

We had 15-20 min's between rains today, but still diffuse light-which is best for bugs.
So tore myself away from the Optimus and did stroll for this little guy hiding between
the grape leaves.

Speaking of the mountains......Here's a quick shot on the way back from another paddling weekend. I happen to look in the rearview mirror and saw this peak. I was going for the 3D pop look but in hindsight I think I'll stop down a bit more next time.

recently picked up a rokinon 24mmf2.8. was a returned item from amazon, came with v1 firmware,,,super old,,,updated it to v4 for the a73 and shes a great performer,i think samyang/rok should have tried to team with sony and pay royalties for using thier cameras to update thier lenses...the dock is a pain,,,was hard to find one in canada and not super convienient,i can see the firware version in camera should be able to update it in camera,,, does any third party lenses do that? tamron, sigma, etc?
