I've been thinking more and more about the 16-35 GM and frankly the 24-70 GM. I am a bit surprised that I'm not super excited by either and that includes the FE 12-24 too. I think I've come to realization that I truly prefer high quality primes over zooms. I'm quite happy with my Laowa 12mm, Batis 18mm, Loxia 21mm combo on the wide end and FE 55 and Loxia 85 on the mid range long end. I guess if I was traveling all the time, I may prefer the 16-35 and a 24-70 to avoid changing out lenses all the time. Anyone else share the same about primes vs zooms?

This is my world.... I should just shut up be happy and figure out how to get the A9 in my bag vs all this other lens consolidation

For me I will commit and 2 days later the A9xxx will come out same price and be even more awsome...... So just wait for me to buy I guarantee I can force sony to release something else.

aka I have owned 6000 6300 and currently 6500..... although the 6000 I still have in infra red. (hmmm should take that out of my bag or sell it)

a9 was old tech the day I opened the box. Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall in Sonys R/D department
and get a good look at the chalkboard/pipeline ??

A9R, A9S, A9Rii, A9Sii. It's an old song we all love so much.

Wow that Godox 350 is quite a bit smaller than the 685. I might have to get the 350 as well, for when I don't need the 685.

Got a Bowens mount and a softbox coming in later today. Looking forward to playing with some product photography around the house (thanks Gene for the inspiration).

Eddie, your boy is so big now. Mine is a bit over 4 years old now. Amazing to see how much they learn at this age.

Apparently, Amazon had the wrong price on the new 16-35 GM lenses for 8 days at $1698 before adjusting it back to $2198. They are honoring any pre-orders with the lower price. Lucky people that ordered.

My first attempts at product photography (for items going up for sale).

I forgot to do a pull back shot, but it's basically a one-light operation. Softbox on the right, reflector on the left.

First up, the Canon FD 300/4.

FE 90 for both shots.

Nadim, with your softbox on one side and reflector on the other, it will tend to leave the image still looking a bit too dark in the center. A couple of suggestions would be to first, using a levels adjustment layer, grab the whites eyedropper and click in the image where there is shadow. That will make the bg go more white and open the shadows some too. You could also go to "Image>Adjustments>Highlights/Shadows..." and click on that. Bring the shadows back down to suit...kinda like this maybe?
