Thanks for the details. On my a7r3, I've programmed the C2 button to zoom in to focus. I use it mostly when the camera is on a tripod so a top of camera button works well for me.

Yes sir.
Mines on C2.
C3 is set up for Focus Modes. Tap and spin the front dial.

Getting the steps in today Poof spotted a tree with 4 hawks. We'd just seen
a hawk a few min's earlier, upon more inspection Poof determined it was a mom and
3 fledges=a good year for the neighborhood hawks! And maybe expected because rabbits
are everywhere.
When I got up closer to the tree mom took off in defense mode.

I'd love to have that in my collection.

Very kind of you Robert, thanks.

Pretty scene after sunrise near the zoo in San Antonio. No clouds in the sky unfortunately. 6 stop ND.

So...the improvements to the AF tracking on the a9....are insane...sorry if I have said that once or twice...I shot shorebirds last year on vacation with the a9, and had to rely on me being able to keep the focus point on the little critters...which meant missed shots...blame it on a crap operator...but this year...no misses...strings of images anywhere from 20 frames to 200...I am compiling a video of a seagull fly by...but for now, this little Willett was on the run...I enjoyed photographing this little bird, and then my daughter decided to chase it..., anyway, the whole series of images were sharp and in focus...blows my flippin mind. I also confirmed that I would like to have the 200-600...the backgrounds won't be as nice as the 70-200...but I should be able to get closer without moving my feet or cropping so much, the result of this crop was a tossing of over 50% of the frame.

70-200+200-600 sounds like a great plan.

The title of your image brought to mind Henry Ford's Willow Run bomber plant of WWII fame. The plant built B-24 bombers but because of design changes and delays, the press started referring to the plant as "Will it Run."

Gene, help me find something.
Look at the image please, specifically the little side mount.
What is this? Be nice to have a second camera on it....second small camera :)

It's on the Leofoto LS-284C tripod.

I think it would make a great wildlife pairing...

39 days and counting, IF I got in early enough ;)
But Alex Phan says no worries since made in China with plenty of production.
Unlike the Nikon 500PF where many are still waiting.

I think a good combo for me would be a9+200600 and RX100vi !!

Man, why will no one release a 35 f/1.8 or f/2??

f/1.2 sounds heavy!
