That's ok, after years without one I only just started to own them again too. I went through a period where I cared more about the size and weight.

Wow I'm surprised you don't want to get the SamYang then and complete the set :p
I actually own the Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 too which is why it's a bit harder for me to make the choice as the Sony lens is great itself.

darn,,,,,now u have me wanting to sell the fe85 which i do luv,,,,,and try the samang,,,,85,,,,haha,

i dont have the 85 samyang, but i have the 14mm,24mm, 35mm and 50mm all af and i can tell u without a doubt these are great lenses, when sony got the major eye update with animal eye and such samyang updated all their lenses to work better, they are on the ball with keeping sony users happy, i luv my prime set up, i have a fe 85 sony already so prob wont update to the samyang version but i am eagery waiting for a samyang 135 or 105mm,

Is there a rumour for a 105mm??

I need to fill the gap and I’m looking at an 85 1.8 from Sony. Locally it seems that nobody sells Samsung 85mm 1.4.

I think it's best you take one for the team and give it a try :p

I use my 85mm for full body portraits and street which is why I am tempted by it. I've been watching a few reviews and seems the AF in continuous has a few issues so I may hold off until it's fixed in firmware, which I think may have been done already.

At the gender 'reveal' party for the unborn baby one of my grandchildren at a local park yesterday afternoon, I happened to capture this image of one of my great-grandsons. I liked the warm, late afternoon light on him.

Speaking of FW updates, are we not still waiting on one more for the a9? One with
intervalometer?

FW 6.0 sometime this summer from what I have read.

Ability to use the BT remote, had to take the R3 in favor of it due to that convenience.

Took many run of the mill family shots with it

I picked up an A9 yesterday. I wanted to try some moving subjects so these were guaranteed rather than hoping for some winged subjects.
With Sigma 500 f4 and MC-11.

OK, dummy here. I shot with a flash and got 2 different results; never had that issue before. First shot is with flash in M mode, second in ETTL, what's going on?
The half dark shot was 1/160 s the normal one 1/125 s. Is it the sync speed?

Yes sync speed by the looks of it (I’m no flash expert though but had similar previously and it was a sync issue)

Yeah shutter speed exceeded max flash sync speed (1/160s)

Edit... Certain third party flashes I've used sync slower. Yongnuo was like 1/125s

So, when I set the speed to 1/100 or 1/125 it seems good.
Thanks, guys.

I had an issue when using triggers. Although I was within the camera limits I had exceeded the trigger sync limit

I've been teaching my daughter photography...and by teaching her, I don't mean technique, but fostering a love for the craft. The other kids never cared for it, but she finds a genuine enjoyment in it so I gave her my old EOS M and encourage her to just shoot stuff.
