I know that I might have previously mentioned that the 16-35 f/4 might be an alternative to the GM...but working on images today that were from the GM...there is less distortion from the GM compared to the f4...so for that reason...on the f/4...I am out...
I could sit up on this terraced deck and watch the sunset every night...it had a window view to the GGB...

Good to know about the GM vs the f/4. For some time now I've been dragging my feet on transitioning completely to native Sony lenses. My Canon EF-16-35 f/2.8 III is my favorite lens and it's so good (even when adapted) that I've been reluctant to make the move to the GM.

Nice view of the Sutro Tower, but watching the sunset every night in San Francisco? Apparently Karl The Fog was not present when you were visiting.

I have been considering renting that lens to see if I like it but really want to avoid adapters if I can.

LOL, the fog was not too bad on this trip. Which is good for my client. The photographer in me wanted it for other reasons when we had down time.

how's the low light performance of the Em1 Mark ii? for RE, the Max ISO i'm using is 400 so i think it should be ok. I really like how cute looking that camera too.

low light isnt great, i have it set to iso 3200 max and thats very max,1600 is safe, i have some good software noise removal so if theres an image i really like i can usually save it even above 3200 but it takes time, its a very feature rich camera, not sure what they are going for used but i find with it and the sony its a great team, the em1.2 has an incredible list of features even todays cameras dont have, live time and live comp are most noteable, also the pixel shift high res mode would be good for your real estate work, very detailed files. its a great camera and i was all in lens wise before i dived into sony.between oly and panasonic lenses i think u would be covered

Doing the "Tourist in my own city" thing again with my kids.

Granville Island, Vancouver BC.

Tamron 28-75mm did well. I just really dislike the 28mm wide but I lug it around for convenience and light weight. IQ wise it simply delivers extremely well!!

I don't know anyone recalls me asking if anyone had used STC Optics clip filter ND filters for the sensor? I took a chance and decided to buy them since I have the Sigma 105mm f1.4 that requires a 105mm filter. All the different lenses requiring different sized filters or using a monster step-down adapter for the all smaller lenses just didn't appeal to me. So I gave them a try and they seem to do great! They did seem to boost saturation a bit but it was easily corrected in post. These photos were taken with the 9-stop ND clip filter around 3:30pm in northern California

Have a laugh. This picture I took to share with my astro mentor to show him I was
out and practicing using the Bahtinov filter (the Redcat 51 has a Bahtinov built into the
hood). I also shot a star field...just a boring shot of the night sky for him to examine
to determine if my scope was 'good'. Happily he reported back the scope is good and
asked me if I was using FF, to which I replied yes, he then said that explained the coma
on the far edges which would be expected.
Now the funny part. This image got EXPLORED...just a throw away pic we use to check
focus on the stars haha!

Great idea! Shade lovers if I remember correctly. Perfect place waiting on them. Next year. Remind me :)

great shots. and the yes the tamron is sharp with great color. I did experience AF issues in low light though. and yes i also wish it's 24mm at the wide end but Tamron did that to keep the lens smaller.
