I know I have mentioned it before...and was going to send the a9 in for service...the Card Slot 1 not reading error...turns out that it is a UHS-i vs UHS-II issue...Card SLot 1 no longer reads UHS-I cards. Maybe a glitch in a FW update that caused it and apparently FW 5.01 fixes it....I thought I was on 5.01, but will have to look when I get home. All of my UHS-II cards work just fine in that slot...

And a picture to go with words...from the beach trip...probably missed a dust spot or two but after removing a couple hundred I got tired of looking for them...not sure how the sensor got so dirty on that trip...but it took 3 swabs to get it clean.

From a recent trekk in the Douro River valley in Northern Portugal. in this area the Douro River is the boundary between Portugal and Spain.
The highlight of the day was to watch 6 or 7 Griffon Vultures with their 91/2 ft wingspan circle us over head as they lifted off of the granit cliffs below only to be overshadowed by a pair of Golden Eagles that appeared a bit later, definitely a day I will never forget, even my partner who is not much into "wildlife" was awed by the experience!

Poof loves the 85/1.8 and it taking it to Alaska.
I keep looking at the 35/1.8, no need but it would complete the three 1.8's eh.

Supposedly Allan's Camera is to ship the 200-600mm tomorrow.
Replacement foot should arrive Friday.
Already have the 'snow camo' Lenscoat and the collapsible rubber hood and filter.
Should be good to go by end of weekend.

Back from a fantastic trip to Australia, a whole month! Absolutely gorgeous. I visited new places and revisited some old ones. I have actually lived in Australia for 12 years in the early 80s.

Anyway, while in Sydney I had the wonderful opportunity to meet with one of our forum members Dan Lee, who was kind enough to take me and my friend to Chinatown's special place: Spice Alley that I didn't know.
We shot some pictures and while I was shooting myself stupid in Spice Alley he captured me :) So here it is or here I am.
Thank you Dan

I didn't know you used to live in Australia in the past Renata. You don't have much of an accent at all. -? :p

Tempting idea for me as well. Hope it’s a great lens, like the FE 85 1.8! :)

Finally got out, was looking for a low tide and flaming skies..... neither worked out ;-)a

Had time to evaluate the 17-28, and I'm most confident that it's not as sharp as the 12-24. Certainly very good and it's really convenient shooting two tamrons with similar characteristics, after I run a batch job, I cant even tell them apart aside from focal length. Generally liked how the 28-75 shots came out for this particular place, if there were better reflections and sky, the 17-28 would have been used more.

Was great to finally meet you too Renata and put a name to the face after all this time. It’s a shame that you didn’t visit a bit later as they just opened a really nice new area in Darling Harbour that you would have loved!

Whilst I loved the cv40 and was getting used to manual focus I couldn’t really justify having both lenses and at the end of the day I realised I prefer AF in that range for the things I photograph most (kids that don’t sit still :) ) so I just sold it. I also sold the batis 85 which I also loved. I’ll likely add the FE85 at one point too

Personally, I couldn't tell the difference between images from the two 85's.
