My goodness! Just had a proper look at the sigma 35 1.2 image thread on FM. Can’t believe how amazing the lens renders. Smooth lovely looking bokeh and sharp wide open. I really don’t want a big lens but the images I’m seeing are amazing!

In a major dilemma now to stick with my 35/1.8 pre order or not. The sensible thing would be to stick, but...

They each have a purpose. Buy both :-)

lmao, I'm in a similar scenario, shoot the 35 f2.8 on a regular basis, so if I got a big hunker, it wouldnt kill me...... I'm just imagining my use case and that's what I'm having issues with. I'de be compelled to bring it to the park, aquarium/botanical garden memberships. The lens weighs more than my tamrons 17-75 f2.8 zooms, but the quality of lens is just off the charts.

Went out with the new lens last Sunday, but the critters were all being shy. I managed to snag this little one in the grass and that's about it. 685mm@f9

Shot with the new 600/4 GM for the first time yesterday. This is with stacking 2X and 1.4X teleconverters at 1680mm handheld.

2+ pounds. To me makes the FE 35/1.8 even better.

I bet the 600/4 looks great beside your 400/2.8 Shalu! Congratulations on the big boy!

Eriet, if both 100400 and 200600 were available I'd go 200600 :)

Thank you, Robert! I put the 400 back into its carrying case now. I will use the 400 only for low light f/2.8 and air travel. 600 will be my weapon of choice from now on

The 200-600G looks great. Several of my friends got it too.

Sunrise at one of the few good sunrise spots in the Smokies...it looked like it was going to be a total overcast dud...but some holes in the clouds produced some good light, good light over those layers.

Endless Layers

One advantage of shooting 2 bodies, they can do different comps...I was working between both of them this morning...

We have a three day even coming up later this weekend. 21 miles and over those miles we'll gain 10,000 feet and loose 14,000 feet.
Travis we'll be zipping by your rock between Round Bald and Grassy Ridge.
This hike to celebrate my reaching 177.5 pounds! And will probably drop a little more on the hike.

Many people think the Appalachians are soft and lush. We do have our rocky sections. Like this from the 3 day hike a couple of weeks ago

That's Poof in front and Neutron behind. He's my personal physician and thy guy who bought my a99ii. Always good to have an MD along when in the woods but he's a beekeeper too, that's how I met him.
I won't be carrying a camera on the hike...this has to be the lightest loudout I can come up with...so the phone will have to do. Got a deal on a Note 9 since the 10 is out and will the shooter.

Color me envious. May I ask how you were able to stack the two teleconverters? I have both and would love to know how.
