Excellent light! Such a great location to shoot sunrise.
Thanks. It is a classic spot, glad we got some good light there while you were here.
It sure is...

We have a three day even coming up later this weekend. 21 miles and over those miles we'll gain 10,000 feet and loose 14,000 feet.
Travis we'll be zipping by your rock between Round Bald and Grassy Ridge.
This hike to celebrate my reaching 177.5 pounds! And will probably drop a little more on the hike.
Many people think the Appalachians are soft and lush. We do have our rocky sections. Like this from the 3 day hike a couple of weeks ago

That's Poof in front and Neutron behind. He's my personal physician and thy guy who bought my a99ii. Always good to have an MD along when in the woods but he's a beekeeper too, that's how I met him.
I won't be carrying a camera on the hike...this has to be the lightest loudout I can come up with...so the phone will have to do. Got a deal on a Note 9 since the 10 is out and will the shooter.
Sounds like a great hike. One day you need to meet my friend Ron Williams. He lives in Johnson City, hikes through there a lot.
Thank you. The Smokies have a few great lookouts that showcase these layers. This is one of the better ones.

Nice. I’d love to see more captures from you of the Kimbell, one of Louis Kahn’s several architectural masterpieces.
I was supposed to do a hotel in Ft. Worth...the main draw for me was the Kimbell...I didn't get to do the job...but might have one there after all...

Simply gorgeous light Travis!
We've had nothing that spectacular this past week but I do think we've managed to capture some good ones! I done Lulworth Cove sunrise this morning which actually popped nicely after (the official) sunrise. Also got some midday shots from there and Durdle Door on Tuesday including climbing the next cliff along for a further away view. Portland Bill area for both sunrise (was okay) and sunset (a dud!) but pre sunset gave us some great water movement

So overall, some nice camera time and a few new opportunities taken

Thank you sir. Anytime out with the camera is better than sitting around...I am sure you came away with something, looking forward to seeing the images.

I don't like to shut myself off at the gym. Commuting I drive anyway..... If I shot urban or city a bit more then I could probably see the appeal in an honesty. I prefer woodlands and nature. This morning I was listening to the sea

The sounds of nature sure are nice, and are my preference...I see people hiking with headphones on...I find that to be dangerous...you can't hear others when they are trying to signal you...or the bears when they are walking with you! So much better to hear...last weekend we stopped off at a spot, Alfredo was working a shot, and I was just standing in the tree canopy, listening to all of the little birds and sounds...I think I am going to make a point to do more of the "Quiet Walkways" that are all along the road through the park...just to enjoy the sounds.
