Alright gurus, I miss my macro lens and want to hear from you about the Sony 90mm macro baby, please. Or any other suggestions?
Of course, I sold my Canon gear and the lovely EF 100mm Macro USM IS f2.8 L lens.

It’s a nice sharp lens but oh my the bokeh is ugly wide open, it gives the specular highlights a very strange shape.

Does it? But then whenever I shot macro, I always closed down to at least f5.6 or even higher/smaller aperture. Not talking about shooting portraits or anything like that with it; strictly macro since I have the Zeiss Batis 85/1.8 for those occasions. So, still not the greatest?

If you’re using at anything from f/4 and smaller than the bokeh is fine, it’s just purely wide open it isn’t that pleasant.
The only other downside compared to the 100L is it doesn’t support tripod collars. If neither of these matter to you then it’s a fantastic lens.

Awesome Havestman! If that's your first image then the future in bright indeed!

Haha, thanks!

How neat! Totally unique capture (to me) of this often shot viewscape. I'm glad you had the uberwide lens with you.

I always have it with me. Thank you!

Great one Alfredo!

Now you need to come back and shoot it again with the CV 10mm - it would get the whole bend in the road in frame, which would be cool. :p

Oh yeah 10mm would be just about right. Thanks!

The Sony FE 90G macro lens is one of my favorite and most used lenses. I've used it on everything from macro to 'product' type shots to portraits.

Well my LCD seems to have stopped working :-(. EVF is working. Any thoughts here? I'm guessing its just shot. I hope Sony announces a mini a9 or something cool and small in the APS-c line later this month.

how do you like it so far...all of the images I have seen from it look outstanding...

you guys were talking about TV shows...I worked from home today, and my office is setup to have my desktop screen right behind my work laptop and higher...so I checked out "The Boys"..no offense... yall watch some weird $hi+...not my speed for sure...but I gave it three episodes to give it a fair chance...

Agree, word for word . lol

All seasons have been screened live on Sky in the UK. It’s a great serious with some clever twists and interesting changes in dynamic between the main characters

Yes in deed Chris, Great series. Both the AG and the HFO are great actors, and dont discount the AG father

In my local area I am fortunate that there’s a shop called Headphonebar. Audition anything you want. My pair of Campfire Solaris cost as much as my Sigma 105 f1.4. In ear monitors (IEM) can match 20+ thousand dollars hifi systems easily. Realism and holographic sound is in a world of its own when you get into high fidelity IEMs. I haven’t even started on amplification and high bit rate music source! Don’t venture this path because it may be another means of thinning the wallet!!

10 dynamic drivers in each. There goes my budget for a GMaster 24f1.4 LOL!

Look for both amplification and source Balanced, not single ended, make's a big difference

Finished up The Boys and really enjoyed it. Great cast. Love all the subtle cultural reference humor. My favorite moment is when the show not so subtly references SNLs hilariously infantile Laser Cats skits that Bill Hader (who looks a LOT like Jack Quaid!) and Andy Samberg used to do.

Karl Urban is just too cool - I’m a long time fan since I first saw him in The Bourne Identity and Chronicles of Riddick.

Biggest complaint is what the heck is going on these days with shows getting shorter and shorter. An eight episode season is just sad.

Living in the same mountains just a few miles north and east we sadly take them for granted :( Just remember to really see
the Smokies (like any national park) you need to get away from the parking lot.

I’m not far away either. I’ll admit that I don’t get out and enjoy them nearly as often as I should.

Homelander, greatest hero in existence.

I watched the show without knowing the episode count. The pace was so fast, over before I realized. Could be worse I guess, stranger things felt forever, attack on Titan, one punch man, years in between.

My understanding is that season two is already being worked on. So that's good, gives me some time to explore other Amazon videos.

I still haven't finished it, but am enjoying it.

I don't mind shorter seasons as long as the quality is there. Most shows have a bunch of useless filler episodes.

Cobra Kai seasons are super short too, but really good!

Nice! I had loaned my 12 to James...so you guys got these cool shots!

When might you go?
I am going to be up there 3 times in the next three months...just today I got invited to be a guest instructor for two mini workshops for the Georgia Nature Photography Association on their annual statewide weekend in the Smokies.

I haven't made any plans at this point. My wife will probably want to go as well since she really liked it there. It would likely be October or November since we're going to San Diego in September.

Sorry but this is actually the 28-75 haha.

I was thinking of getting the 17-28 but I’m broke after the Earbuds and the 35mm FE.
