I was looking at that one today...not sure I want to go used...its a lot of coin, and I am not a trusting person...to buy something that expensive from a complete stranger...if one of you guys here was selling, no problem...

If I were buying new, I'de give greentoe a shot. I know I could save a few hundred off the 70-200gm, and basic math says that's 10+ percent. I saved a similar amount for a brand new 135 art. Will use it when I buy another new item, you get close to used/gray market prices in some occasions, except it's USA.

The seller has good feedback but yes I understand about being cautious buying such a big ticket item. Personally, I would buy new just for the peace of mind and the return option.

Do you have any return rights? Not that I plan to when I buy it...its not a lens, its a body, and I am set on it...hell, I will be down to the A7R2 and the 7D soon...the selloff has been going well, the a9 is 3/4 funded...

I've sold 2 brand new a9 cameras so far (both on FM). If anyone local is interested in a cash deal, please let me know. I'm not actively selling (unlike the old a7rii days) Sony gear anymore nor do I keep inventory (due to such high value), but can certainly hear out your interests and propose my offer. If anyone is interested, please kindly send any questions via PM. If not, please kindly ignore this message. :)

Another shot from Stanley, Idaho. This is one view of Saddleback lake (aka, Shangri La). The draw to this area is the infamous Elephants Perch which is a world class big wall rock climbing destination. I have some pics of it that I will post sometime but my computer has bit the dust and there will be no editing for a while -?

they didnt show me the reseller until we made a deal on the price, straight up negotiation!

support was really good as well, I had someone from GT help me out ASAP. At first I thought it was an autoresponder, but it turned out to be a real person. I was really close to buying the 70-200gm at one point, but I waffled, too scared of the size and weight. After using the 100-400's, 70-200 f2.8's, 70-400g, I really should know this by now, it's simply too much for me, and at the end, I couldnt delete my offer and was afraid it might get filled, even with a ridiculous savings, so I changed my bid to $1 ;-)a

it's not even shooting season for me, however I got the sigma 135A instead, and while my copy has the tiniest bit of decentering, it's so ridiculously sharp that I have no regrets. I'm still trying to sell off my 135L, which I shot with for years....

I may do a feeling out process with the 12-24 to see what prices I get back from GT. if I save as much as I did for the sigma, it'll be a total win.

There was a pretty decent sale on it from B&H a few days ago.

Go for it! My goal is to get everyone here to get one and also get referrals for marriage counselors when your wives get upset, lol.

Also take a look at Amazon as well. I bought mine from an authorized 3rd party through Amazon, used their store card for 12 months interest free, for $3,999.

I only have interest free via PP, best way to conceal money :-D

I cant buy large items via Amazon for that reason, GT takes PP
