i have on more than one occasion had the a9 get stuck between acquiring focus and taking the picture...or when I go to review the images it is stuck on focus acquisition...and an on/off resets it...but it happens with different lenses infrequently.

I’ve had no issues with my 16-35 GM with a7RII. That’s an odd issue you’re experiencing.

Thanks for your input. It appears the GMaster 16-35 had a new firmware revision in January, 2019. My lens had Ver 2.0 which is now replaced with Ver 3.0. This new firmware version addresses the issues with the A73 according to it's description.

I hope this helps others.

My sunrise shoot in Rainier was planned around getting an image like this...I wanted a clear sky, I like it better that way for the reflection. Sometimes dramatic skies can be overpowering if they are also reflected in a nice still and calm lake. 3 image pano with the Batis 18, because I didn't have a lot of time...so single frames, no brackets.

I'm getting a little desensitized with all these new releases every other month, not just sony but panasonic , black magic ..

I'm only waiting on the a7s3..
For photos in with what i have ,

Likewise. Initially when releases were less frequent and there were huge advancements between bodies I'd get excited about every release. But I think Sony hit the sweet spot for me with the a7rIII and I don't find anything to be lacking.

If an a9II is released, it will actually increase the likelihood of me snagging an a9, since it presumably will sell for a discount unless they price the Mkii into the stratosphere

What has been the best price in USD for an A9mk1 new?

I've been contemplating on buying the A7r4 and using my 16-35mm in crop mode (24-52.5mm). My issue is I love UWA and 61MP is just a lot to handle for my 4hgz Intel i7 skylake processor.

The "new" colour science found in the A73 should be along the same lines in the A7r4. I just really want the benefits of A9 AF.

Of course these are all "nice to have" as my current pair of A73 are working fine at the moment. My story would be different if I owned an a7r3 (I can get for 3285 CDN taxes in due to a rebate).

I really do want 30+MP but the A9mk2 is going to a be at a premium $$$ for a good couple years.

Love that atmosphere, very nice one Lee...I think the CV40 might have to be added to the bag...so many times lately I have thought that 40mm would be ideal, and the CV lenses are so small, light and sharp...

It sells for $3500 down here. Basic ally for $3500 you pick between the a9 or A7riv.

A7III is probably all I need as a second body but I do like the real time tracking AF. Just not sure if that alone is worth the premium. I don't need 60mp or 20fps.

This and your previous shot are very cool! You processing style goes very will with these scenes. Great job!

Thanks Gene, Cory. Certainly an environment I like to be in! Especially seeing as we've no local mountains!!

I'm just finishing up the rest of them in LR.

I'm almost thinking you should consider the GFX50S for you model shots. Or if you stay in the Sony eco system the A7r4.

Realistically this is a nice to have but not need to have.

I'm on the fence as I can get an aging A9 for about 5600 bucks or just wait for the A9mk2. Lotsa money for a casual fun Sony camera system.

the gfx is a possibility..

I've been considering selling the xt3 while it still has some value( I can still get 2/3's of its original value, but all I need is credible rumor of a xh2 or xpro 3 and the market will be flooded .. the Fuji's tend to lose value very quickly .
sell all my lenses and i'm sure I have gfx 50 covered ..

there's the a7r4 as well which Is very tempting just because its the latest.. and 60 is better than 42 right? lol, I was very happy with the a7r3.. for my use , not sure the its worth the extra cost.

ithe a9 is definely not for me.. I mean sounds like an amazing camera , so ill wont say never, but I don't need that sort of speed or tracking capability.. as is I don't even use the a73 to its fullest capability as far as AFc goes..

30ish MP and A9 speed. I would be tempted at that, not so much by the price though I bet :)

Me too. that's a sweet spot in terms of resolution. the only issue might be the price. the A9 got release for 4500USD, right?

Got my FE 50 1.4 ZA up on FM for a week now and no bites (except for a lowballer jerk who keeps wasting his time sending me PMs). I do know I want to sell my 40 and the 50, and would like to decide between CV 12 and FE 12-24.
