I do know I want to sell my 40 and the 50, and would like to decide between CV 12 and FE 12-24.

Sep 03, 2019 22:53 | #32526 A compact, fast 35 is so crucial to documentary photography. I wouldn't say it was worth the wait because 6 years of trying different proxies was annoying as hell, but its a very solid lens at any price point or size. Very sharp with great colors and contrast. Bokeh is not the best, but not terrible either all things considered. Overall rendering is reminiscent of the Batis line. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/2hah8Xhfocalpointsphoto.com

I've been considering selling the xt3 while it still has some value( I can still get 2/3's of its original value, but all I need is credible rumor of a xh2 or xpro 3 and the market will be flooded .. the Fuji's tend to lose value very quickly . sell all my lenses and i'm sure I have gfx 50 covered .. there's the a7r4 as well which Is very tempting just because its the latest.. and 60 is better than 42 right? lol, I was very happy with the a7r3.. for my use , not sure the its worth the extra cost. ithe a9 is definely not for me.. I mean sounds like an amazing camera , so ill wont say never, but I don't need that sort of speed or tracking capability.. as is I don't even use the a73 to its fullest capability as far as AFc goes.. The companies getting screwed by the overwhelming volume of releases in Canikon as people are flat-out desensitized and there isn't anything exciting about what they bring to market. They're jumping late into the mirrorless game when existing players have hit critical mass already. It's hard for them generate a buzz anymore when they're simply trying to accomplish what others had done years ago. focalpointsphoto.com

Speaking of Batis, wonder how this optically compares to the Batis 40mm? Regardless the FE 35 1.8 has it beat on price:performance. Personally I’m in the camp of: ‘you can’t have too many 35mm lenses’ because it’s such a great general purpose FL with so many genres. I’m keeping my Loxia 35mm forever and love my new Sigma (quickly displacing the Otus 55 as my all-time favorite lens of any FL), yet I’d still like to eventually get the little 35mm 2.8 back in my life because it’s so teeny weeny and super light. Yes its such a key and versatile focal length for many genres of photography that it makes sense to own multiple 35mm lenses for different uses. focalpointsphoto.com

When you frame loosely have busy backgrounds with hard contrast light the Distagon fares better. I tortured tested the lens y'day and saw some nasty bokeh balls. I'm going to test against the distagon tonight. Yes its such a key and versatile focal length for many genres of photography that it makes sense to own multiple 35mm lenses for different uses. In an ideal world we'd have a compact, super fast aperture 35mm with AF, that is sharp, and has superlative bokeh... but physics are what they are I'm going to snag a Sigma 35 f1.2 in October once wedding and portrait season heats up again. This probably means cv40 and the distagon are getting sold off. Keep me in mind for the ZA...I am probably going to offload the 50Art and go to the 35 instead. Website

The thing about photography that has the most impact is the power to freeze time, and allow us to go back to that moment and let those good memories be the dominant force...RIP my friend...it was just a snapshot at the time but to him it was his favorite image of himself...and now...its no snapshot.
