IM IN HUGE TROUBLE!!!!!

Lenses have not sold yet.

FE100-400GM Just went from backordered to Packed at Adorama.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH im gonna be in a dog house

did you try GT? When I placed a bid for the 70-200 GM, I got over 200 off, I imagine it would be similar with the 100-400...

I got nice savings for the incoming 12-24, sold off my 16-35 to offset some of the cost.

Fantastic plan. Fantastic image.
Now kayaking and cameras.
We've always used a Sony TX30 for our youtube vids. High time Sony
brought out a replacement. The TX30 is casting long long shadows.

If I still shot with a flappy mirror, the leaked specs of the D850 looks nice. 46mp, anywhere from 7-9 FPS, 50 shot buffer, XQD, improved touch screen, 2.36m rear screen, .75x OVF, etc. Probably close to $4,000 though. But my DSLR days are behind me, no more heavy 24-70 and bag to lug around. Looks like the ultimate DSLR and couldn't ask for much more, well maybe better video performance if we go based on Nikon's subpar video AF

I wonder if the sensor design is similar to the d800 (sony exmore on chip DAC) or the D5....meaning is Nikon getting d800 level DR or will it "regress" like the D5 since Sony is no longer sourcing the sensor designs to Nikon.

The d800 was highly marketing itself as a high dynamic range camera, but no mention of it in the D850 announcement.

Thanks
The area is located in the extreme northeast coner of Portugal, in the photo Spain is on the left and Portugal on the right, the Douro river acts as the border in this area. The area is extremely dry in the summer months, it rains perhaps once all season and the yellow that you see is a type of grass that is very common in the area, it's actually quite tall, 4ft or so and it turns a beautiful share of gold in the summer and transforms the countryside into a sheet of golden yellow, especially at sunset.

I'm interested as well. Seeing that it has ISO64 like the D810. Surely the D850 can't be a low ISO beast as well as being super sensitive at high ISO. If it's able to have class leading ISO performance at both low ISO it'd be a beast for landscape shooters at the same time being able to be a high ISO beast as well.

Snap of The Cathedral of St Andrew, Wells, Somerset, England.
This version of it started out in 1175 AD clearly lots of style changes have occurred since then.

Was it sad selling off the 16-35? Mines been on so many trips, now displaced by
the 12-24. I'm going to sit on mine for a while.

Well the 42mp BSI is basically good at base ISO and high ISO, so its possible with a good sensor design. Depends on who made the sensor though!

Vinz, scroll down and give Poof's work with the Oly M1ii a 1 min scan. She's the one that taught me firsthand shooting side by side that
heavy EOS kit is not need (in good light). I'm lucky to have her as an Oly mentor. She's been with Oly for quite a while now-

Beautiful shots Jose

Thanks. Its a great area to visit with a huge landscape photographic opportunity, pretty much untouched. Plan to spend quite a bit of time shooting in the area when I retire as well as kayak the entire Douro River valley from my town which is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Biosphere region right down to the Douro River Port wine region, it really is quite spectacular.

not too bad, I wasnt a big 16-35 guy, although the sony version was really nice, I did like the lens very much. Reasonable size, great IQ through most of the frame, and I liked the colors. I've historically had something wider for as long as I can remember, and having something in the focal range of 12-24 is extremely appealing. If it werent for the guinea pigs at FM, I may have got the 16-35gm instead. Either lens was meant for some consolidation. With the 2.8, I would have replaced another 2.8 lens in that range. With the 12-24, I would replace a 10mm instead. I love the 10mm, however I can definitely live with 12, was shooting 12 before it was cool :p
