This article popped up about a wedding photog getting her image sensor destroyed by a laser during a wedding.
I was processing photos from a wedding just now what do I see in the photos? A laser that is an inch from blinding a bride, but also could have destroyed my sensor
The photog in that article is getting blasted in the comments for not having the sense to not shoot in a venue with low level lasers...there's some sexism involved because she's a female.....but anyway, I suspect most of those people blasting her don't shoot weddings. Given the chaos of a wedding day, it's very easy to overlook the fact that lasers are being used even if you know they can damage your sensor. By the time the lasers come on in the end of the day, you're exhausted and in a bit of a brain fog. Now I know to actively look out for it, and to protect myself on the front end by telling the bride beforehand that I'll stop shooting if there are low level lasers on the dance floor.
So big thanks to the wedding photog for the PSA!
so damage can come from having the lasers in the image alone? Or would damage only happen if laser was pointed into camera?
